As you said, context matters - it can be about self-determination and anti-imperialism, but that's really only in the context of a country being a (former) colony, being ruled over by an imperialist power without a say in their own governance. That's not applicable to modern Germany, France, Britain, or America.

Surely not only formerly-colonized countries have a right to autonomy and democracy... (Although in the case of America, we are a former colony.)

A case could be made that European countries are currently being colonized, even Britain. At what point does it get bad enough we're allowed to feel sorry for them? (For me, the limit was the Rotherham grooming gangs.)

The Harvard Salient’s board of directors issued a cease and desist order instructing members of the conservative student magazine to stop publishing under the Salient’s name and representing themselves as leaders of the organization, the board announced on Monday.

The announcement came one week after Richard Y. Rodgers ’28, the magazine’s editor-in-chief, said that the student publication would remain active in the wake of the board’s initial decision to suspend the organization.

But in a Wednesday text to The Crimson, Rodgers wrote that student leaders agreed to abide by the cease and desist order, though he maintained that statements made by the board of directors without approval by student leadership violate the organization’s bylaws.

When Islam came along, Muslims continued what Jews, Christians, Romans, and Persians were already practicing. Much of what we find shocking by today's standards were the cultural norms of that time, and they were shared across Abrahamic and secular societies.

This is a repulsive, and disgusting conversation. And I don't see that in the Bible or the CCC or anywhere for that matter, so I don't know where you're getting that from in regards to Christianity.

That's because it isn’t in the Bible or the CCC, those aren’t sources Early Medieval legal codes. The Christian code I shared comes from Gratian’s Decretum.
