Probably “you shall love your neighbor as yourself”. This commandment of Jesus includes murder but not just murder (Luke 18:20). In fact it encompasses 4 of the 10 commandments including giving false testimony.

If my measure is how much harm the sin does to the other person, then there are probably forms of torture, maiming, etc., that are worse than murder.

(But I'm going to get nightmares if I meditate on that too long, so I think I'll stop now.)

That's up to God, not us. And consider that God is absolute good. A man in San Bernardino is closer to Paris, France, than a man in Anaheim, but both are very far away, so far that there's no real difference between the two.

I think of sin as something that separates us from God. If that definition holds up, how can one sin be worse than another? Separate is separate. I don't think it comes in degrees.

From a human perspective, I think wrongful acts that affect others are worse than those that affect only ourselves.

If you will read the whole account in Matthew 12 you will see that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is.
Stating that Jesus cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

Now when the Pharisees heard it they said, “This fellow does not cast out demons except by Beelzebub, the ruler of the demons.”

This sin was a national sin committed only by the nation of Israel. When Israels rulers reject Jesus as the promised Messiah and the offer of The Kingdom of God. this sin could only be committed by Israel when Jesus was physically on the earth doing miracles by The Holy Spirit, to prove He, Jesus was the promised Messiah of Israel.

Then one was brought to Him who was demon-possessed, blind and mute; and He healed him, so that the blind and mute man both spoke and saw. And all the multitudes were amazed and said, “Could this be the Son of David?”

The result of this sin came in 70 A.D.
