  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Take a stand on political violence

Support of transexuality is a mentally deluded position informed by a culture of lies and prejudice against Christian values.
I have no idea how that can be. I went through 20 years of Christianity and transsexuality NEVER came up. (Abortion, divorce, Yep. Transgenderism, nope.) How can anything related by "prejudice against Chrsitianty. Paranoia is not a good look.
The assertion of psychological identity over biological and revealed identity is madness. Can a sane person hold a mad position? I guess this does happen.
Good grief. Is that what this all is. I have to break it to you... just because the alleged shooter apparently identifies as "bisexual" does not mean he will get any special consideration for mental health issues in court. Medical science does not recognize such as a mental disorder, so if you want to call it "a sin" go ahead, but the courts don't dance to your religion.

A person can have all sorts of mental problems, but the question in court is whether he knew it was wrong in the eyes of the law and whether it was premeditated.

That is not a mental illness. It is a fetish. No more "odd" than...

That old shtick of "well, who's to say what's weird?" isn't gonna fly...

For one thing, a person consuming material depicting man-boy relationships isn't "just a fetish", it demonstrates an inclination towards a behavior that's actually illegal. Nobody would say "the guys in NAMBLA just have a fetish". -- we would say they need to be kept 500 yards way from schools.

And the relativism argument suggesting that the guy who's into "I wanna be a young goat that gets sexually dominated by a older tiger" is somehow no different than the guy who's into "curvy Latinas" is just silly.

In many ways, consuming that kind of content is more damaging to the psyche than regular pornography.

One of the biggest concerns with hentai is the normalization of extreme fetishes—many of which are not even legal in live-action media. Because it’s animated, hentai can depict scenarios involving non-consensual acts, underage characters, and other disturbing content, all while flying under the radar as “just fantasy.”

Over time, watching this kind of content can change what feels normal or acceptable. That desensitization can affect how you see real relationships, sex, and boundaries. Unlike live-action pornography, hentai is limited only by artists' imaginations. This means virtually infinite variety and novelty, factors that strongly drive addictive patterns in the brain's reward system.

Then this is an issue for the courts and it is premature to discuss them.

This post might be the lowest "whatabout" I've ever seen. Just walk away.

You're the one categorized his proclivities as a "fetish" and not "evidence that he had some mental problems"

This isn't a "whatabout" situation.

They subpoenaed his online activities and documented the kinds of stuff he was looking at.

If someone is getting their jollies from visual depictions of man-boy sexual relationships (illustrated, fictional anthropomorphic, real, or otherwise), we've already agreed (as a society) that's not normal...hence the reason society has made it illegal when it happens in real life. Now, if you're suggesting that the collective consensus we've reached on that is wrong, that's going to be a tough sales pitch to the rest of society...just sayin'

That's what that whole "furry" business is.

Maybe it was a red herring. It was irrelevant.

That's how they investigate suspects these days. They also don't release the results of those searches immediately.

What a leap to make. Stick to the facts and not some speculation.

An account on the website FurAffinity.net, which features sexualized images of cartoon animal characters, also features an account name matching one that Robinson used, the report claimed.

Just last week, craftin247’s account on the site said he had “recently watched” content created by a user called RedRusker, — an artist known for drawing images showing underage characters having sex.

RedRusker confirmed on FurAffinity in May 2023 that he had made art that “depicted underage characters,” He said he “felt guilty as f—k” about such images — and that “I won’t draw it again” — but continues to post cartoon porn with younger-looking characters, the Mail reported.

The Two-Decade Red State Murder Problem (January 27 2023)
-
collected homicide data from 2000 through 2020 for all 50 states from the Center of Disease Control Wonder’s National Center for Health Statistics Mortality Data. Data is based on death certificates collected by state registries and provided to the National Vital Statistics System.

1) The murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Donald Trump has exceeded the murder rate in the 25 states that voted for Joe Biden in every year from 2000 to 2020.

2)-Over this 21-year span, this Red State murder gap has steadily widened from a low of 9% more per capita red state murders in 2003 and 2004 to 44% more per capita red state murders in 2019, before settling back to 43% in 2020.

3) Altogether, the per capita Red State murder rate was 23% higher than the Blue State murder rate when all 21 years were combined.

4) If Blue State murder rates were as high as Red State murder rates, Biden-voting states would have suffered over 45,000 more murders between 2000 and 2020.

5) Even when murders in the largest cities in red states are removed, overall murder rates in Trump-voting states were 12% higher than Biden-voting states across this 21-year period and were higher in 18 of the 21 years observed.

6) Despite evidence to the contrary, Republicans have made crime a major selling point over the past several elections. In 2020 and 2022, they ran ads accusing Democratic candidates of wanting to “defund the police”– a position held by only a handful of fringe Democratic officeholders!

7) In October 2022, one-quarter of ads from Republican candidates and PACs focused on crime. Republican-aligned Fox News aired, on average, 141 segments on crime across weekdays in the two months leading up to the midterms. In the week after the midterm, their coverage of violent crime dropped by 50%.

8) In March of 2022, we released a report that found murder rates in 2020 were 40% higher in Trump-voting states than Biden-voting states.

FACTORS THAT ACCOUNT FOR THIS DISCREPANCY IN HOMICIDES BETWEEN FLUE AND RED STATES

GUNS- estimated that gun ownership rates are as much as twice as high in a typical red state than a typical blue state
- 79% of all homicides are committed with a firearm

POVERTY - studies have found a correlation between poverty and violent crime.
- Red states tend to have higher rates of poverty rates than Blue states.

- an educational attainment gap between Red and Blue States where the latter achieving higher rates of post-secondary rates of education

SOCIAL SERVICES and POLICE RESOURCES - cities with Democratic mayors fund police at far higher levels on a per capita basis than cities with Republican mayors
- over the last 2 decades Democrat-run cities spent 38% more on policing per capita than the 25 largest Republican-run cities
- Blue states consistently fund social service programs designed to reduce poverty and violent crime than Red states.

LOUISIANA and MISSISSIPPI have ranked 1 and 2 as states with the highest homicide rates in America with Rwd States = SOUTH CAROLINA, MISSOURI, ARKANSAS TENNESSEE and GEORGIA consistently ranking among the TOP 10

The fact of the second doesn't nullify the truth of the first. I hope that helps
You're ignoring the fact that Baltimore and other places like it, run by democrats, are basically war zones of crime

Which don't change the stats. Pointing out areas that have have crime rates is cherry picking and doesn't affect the stats whatsoever. There's an area of Sydney called Mount Druitt and I'd think twice about driving through there let alone living there. But the crime in that area doesn't affect Sydney's position as one of the safest major cities.

I'm glad I had the opportunity to explain this to you.

Just...what? I generally try to keep the level of discussion above that which I'd find in my grandkids schoolyard. I hope that others also make the attempt.
