Brother in law having cancerous kidney removed and in surgery now. Requesting prayers.

I cannot believe I forgot to request prayers for him here. Please pray the surgery goes well with a good outcome. He will be in surgery until around 8 pm. They said it would be about 4 hours.

Update…The dr just came in and said the surgery is done. He is doing well and in recovery. We won't see him for a couple hours. He said they removed the kidney, ureter tube and a tiny section of his bladder. He thinks he got all the cancer. They are going to keep a close eye on him and they will decide if he will go to icu or another department in the next 2 hours. He said it is a high grade cancer which means aggressive so he said time will tell if it comes back. But for now.....all good news!!

Update on BIL. He is doing good. He got sick a couple times this morning. Vitals are all looking good. They are managing his pain well. He ate his first food this evening….very small amount but something is better than nothing. They did a ct scan of abdomen to check for any leaks from surgery and that’s all good. They are gonna have him get up and start walking tomorrow. Could be coming home in a day or 2 depending how everything’s going. Thank you for the prayers!

He has been released from the hospital and is back home. He has a catheter temporarily. I do not know much more than that at the moment. Thank you all for the prayers.

We had a set back and we are requesting prayers..







He has not been feeling good this past week, throwing up and in a lot of pain. He thought he had food poisoning, but it turned out to be one of his hernias. His wife took him to the ER (Friday afternoon) and it turned out his hernia had strangulated, it had probably been like that for a week. They tried several times to push it back in and got it on the 4th time, but afterwards his pain got worse. It turns out there was a leak in his bowel from the pressure build up from the blockage all week. The stool leaking into his body caused an arrhythmia and made his pacemaker go off. They put him into emergency surgery to fix the leak. They were able to fix the leak and the hernia. They had to remove a small section of his bowel. He just got out of surgery around 1:30 am and is stable . He is in the ICU. He is also intubated.

The dr just called and said that he thinks he’s in septic shock and he hasn’t peed. His wife just got home at 6 am and is heading back over now.

He isn’t going to make it. Doctor has asked his wife to pull life support. Even if she doesn’t, he only has about 2 hours. Pray that he makes his peace with God.

Huge turn of events! Please continue the prayers.

They are doing some different things tonight. Another dr came in and they are giving him a blood transfusion to see if extra blood volume will help him with his blood pressure and the added oxygen will be good. They also gave him calcium which really helped raise his blood pressure. He is still with us and he is doing ok tonight

Just wanted to update you because I know —— told you a dr told us he was going to pass tonight. This new dr decided to change some things and had a better and more positive outlook on what to do.

Please continue to pray. We just came back from my MIL’s to tell her the bad news. Now this! Thanks be to God.
