  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I said "no."

But you are though.

If anything, they're mistaken.

There's probably a thousand ways that photograph can be interpreted.

And there is absolutely zero legitimacy for you to say that. You are not an astronomer nor a scientist, amateur or otherwise, so you have absolutely zero basis or legitimacy for saying that "There's probably a thousand ways that photograph can be interpreted."

The scientists who took that photograph and studied it know what they are talking. You do not.

Really?

From AI Overview:

Many terms and classifications in astronomy are misleading or inaccurate due to historical misnomers, evolving scientific understanding, or classification errors. This can also include recent errors, like misclassifying a spacecraft as a celestial object.

You are not an astronomer nor a scientist, amateur or otherwise, so you have absolutely zero basis or legitimacy for saying that "There's probably a thousand ways that photograph can be interpreted."

The scientists who took that photograph and studied it know what they are talking. You do not.

Don't forget, planetary scientists were excluded from a certain vote taken some ten years ago.

(And, no -- for the third time, I'm not insinuating this news is rigged.)

That's how it reads to me since you're bringing something that your camp repeatedly calls a fraud. So it walks like a duck....

Yes, there is zero legitimacy for you to make that comment because you know nothing about what you're arguing against.

(And, no -- for the third time, I'm not insinuating this news is rigged.)

Your obsessive compulsive need to bring up Pluto to a near religiously fanatic degree is once again noted and discarded.

And yes, making the question of "How much time elapsed from the time that photo was taken, to when it was disseminated to the public, along with a description of what it is and what it's been doing?" does HEAVILY sound like an insinuation from you that the news is rigged. Because if you don't believe it is, why bring it up?

Do you know the difference between "rigged" and "premature"?

In your world, I imagine they mean the same thing.

Do you not think four months is more than enough time for the scientists who took the photo to study it and ascertain what it is they saw, when they know exactly what they're looking for and looking at?

They always claim perfection after they make a mistake science does. They want the public’s trust and no worldly scientist is trustworthy. And you also are clearing out all recognition of God to make yourself infallible like the pope who is hard to believe. Behind closed doors is biblical and applies to all unsaved men. Anything but God’ could take many forms of expression including illegal, immoral , evil, lying. Not uncommon in today world.

... well, none of that's true in the slightest.

Proverbs 10:18 - The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.

(Granted, this is libel since it's written, not slander. But six of one, half a dozen of the other)

A lot of this stems from a principle that's called: publish or perish.

In your close minded world view. Are you an xpert in the law? Why does nobody follow it. You Pooh Pooh me but I know what I’m talking about from a biblical perspective. Against such things there is no law. To call out one of our brothers who doesn’t speak the truth and sounds controlled by Satan. You won’t get your way forever. We have time on our side. Haven’t you heard Elon musk say we won’t make it fifteen years then where will all this money you’ve spent on telescopes and population control and education be. Did your mom grow you up to be dishonest. Where is God with you anyway?

Yeah... you're still committing libel when you type things out on the internet which are not true about the people you're talking about.

But to answer your question, the discovery was made on both April 13th and April 16th of this year, as stated in this paper. You don't have to read the whole thing: the second sentence of the abstract says it.
Thanks for the link. They were very thorough in determining that this is a new born planet. The paper is very detailed.

When it comes to contradicting the Bible, yes.
I understand it can be difficult for some when God's own Creation is showing a very different story than the one we read in the Bible.

Which adds to my suspicion.
If it lacked detail it would add to your suspicion.
If it had an average amount of detail it would add to your suspicion.
If it was published by a single author it would add to your suspicion.
If it was published by a many authors it would add to your suspicion.
If it was published in an American journal it would add to your suspicion.
If it was published in a European jouranal it would add to your suspicion.
If it was reported on the news networks it would add to your suspicion.
If this week Thursday was to follow Wednesday it would add to your suspicion.

I find that suspicious.

Perhaps you should try listening then, instead of just looking?

Romans 8:22 For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Here is a picture of what is believed to be a cat.

IMGP4533.jpg

Should we believe it is a cat as the image was taken by a scientist and not a member of the public who is considered much more trustworthy.
Maybe it's a dog disguised as a cat, there is no audio to suggest in meows which reinforces the suspicion it barks and scientists are cross dressing pagans intent in taking over the world with the next step of demoting the Earth of its planetary status.

Similar logic has been employed in this thread...................

I thought this might be interesting. But I'm not going to wade through so much of the usual dross by the usual suspect(s) who is drawn to threads like this.

First and last post...

I have a very good question to ask:

How much time elapsed from the time that photo was taken, to when it was disseminated to the public, along with a description of what it is and what it's been doing?

The archive numbers are in the posted/linked paper and the data archive is available through this link:

For all of your whinging about astronomers, they sure do make their data available quite regularly and have done so for a very long time. Now back to your void.

pretty close To the star .
The planet (WISPIT 2b) orbits 55 AU from the star (WISPIT 2), which is further from than Pluto orbits the Sun.
Why it’s so bright.
Large, massive planets (this one is 5x the mass of Jupiter) have a lot of heat of formation to radiate away as they contract gravitationally.
Thanks for the info on Gods wonderful creation. Are you a follower of intelligent design at least or randomness in evolution.
No, but biology doesn't have anything to do with planet formation.
So the planet must be made from the stars …. Hydrogen?
Planets form from the gas and dust left over from star formation that forms a disk around the star. For massive planets like this one it can contain large amounts of hydrogen and helium, but it may have formed around a clump of dust or ice like the solid planets in our solar system.
And it is just now moved away enough to be seen.
We see it now because we looked now. The ability to see planets like this is quite new. While planets do migrate through interactions with other planets in and out, planets don't emerge from stars. They form and remain outside of their stars.

But it seems you’re think ing it is giving more info about the birth of planets.
It does. Astronomers continue to observe forming star systems like this to better understand how planets form and planetary systems evolve.
If earth was the same- hydrogen how did it ever get to be organic.
The Earth formed inside the "frost line" like all of the rocky planets. It contains very little of the volatile elements like hydrogen and helium, and is made mostly of the non-volatile materials like dust (including organic material), rock, and metals. All of the elements that make of the Earth were formed in earlier generations of stars and mixed into gases that condensed to make the Sun and solar system.
Oh I see from the primordial ooze.
No primordial ooze involved in planet and star formation. Gas and dust.
The sun is decaying into what-a hole. Thats for your informative answer.
It isn't decaying.
