  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Pirro's appointment marks a notable shift from Martin, who lacked prosecutorial experience, to someone with extensive courtroom background. Her confirmation also highlights ongoing tensions within the Republican party regarding January 6th-related issues and candidate qualifications.
A no-nonsense prosecutor.

Oh, it's that rude talking head. Never thought I'd see her again.

At least she seems to have the qualifications, ignoring her stint at Fox. But it's been more than a decade since she last practiced law, so hopefully she is not out of practice.

'Embarrassment': Expert stunned at triple indictment failure by Jeanine Pirro’s office

In the case of United States v. Sydney Reid, Pirro's office filed a motionwith the judge stating that, "The United States ... respectfully submits this notice alerting the Court and counsel that an Indictment has not been returned in this case. As was previously disclosed by the Court to defense counsel, a third grand jury returned a no true bill.

Strike three! Yer out!
That one, and the sandwich guy, and now Pirro's thrown another gutterball. Wait, I've switched sports.

'One of the weakest requests for detention I have seen' | Judge releases DC lawyer, West Point grad accused of threatening National Guard

A magistrate judge released a D.C. attorney and West Point graduate from jail Thursday, saying the government had “as close to zero” a chance as possible at demonstrating he was a danger to the community.

According to charging documents, a group of Ohio and Delaware National Guardsmen who were patrolling 14th Street Sunday evening reported Bryant approached them and began yelling things, including, “These are our streets!” and, allegedly, “I’ll kill you.” Before leaving the area, Bryant allegedly “threw his left shoulder” into one of the Guardsmen’s shoulders.

[Judge] Faruqui, who served 12 years himself as a federal prosecutor in D.C., said [prosecutor under Pirro] Bove was in a tough position arguing for Bryant’s detention in a courthouse where prosecutors had not sought to detain hundreds of Jan. 6 defendants accused of worse conduct.

Didn't she lie about election fraud? If so, she shouldn't be eligible for anything, US Attorney. Other than that, I don't know much about her. I don't trust anyone, that's on The Fox news channel. Since they lied for years.

Make it six "no true bill"s for Pirro. It used to be you could indict a ham sandwich. Now you can't even indict a thrown sandwich. Wokka Wokka.

D.C. grand jury declines to indict another defendant amid Trump's crime crackdown

Grand juries have declined to indict at least six times in recent weeks as part of President Donald Trump's federal policing in Washington.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia accusedNathalie Rose Jones of Indiana of threatening to take the life of the president and transmitting threats over state lines on Instagram and Facebook.

Jones allegedly called Trump a “terrorist” and a “Nazi” in a voluntary interview with the Secret Service. She attended a march in Washington on Aug. 16 that went around the White House complex and was then arrested, though she said she had no desire at that time to harm Trump

Seven. (At least seven, it's getting too numerous to keep track of easily)

Judge chastises D.C. prosecutor’s office led by Jeanine Pirro, says it has ‘no credibility left’

A federal magistrate judge on Thursday angrily accused Justice Department prosecutors of trampling on the civil rights of people arrested during President Trump’s law enforcement surge in the nation’s capital.

[The case being dismissed involved a drunk, potentially intellectually disabled-potentially insane, man who broke a light fixture at a restaurant. As he was being hauled off, he mouthed off to the police officer that he was going to kill him, the president and anyone who stood in the way of the Constitution. Pirro charged him with threatening the President's life.]

Eight? Though this appears to be the government itself deciding it was wrong.

D.C. Man Accused Of Spitting At National Guard Sees Felony Case Dismissed

The judge offered a rebuke of Jeanine Pirro’s office: “The way this is supposed to work is the U.S. Attorney’s Office does its due diligence.”

During a hearing in federal court Tuesday, Assistant U.S. Attorney Caelainn Carney said the government moved to withdraw the felony charge against Scott Pichon after reviewing the evidence in the case. Carney had filed a motion last week saying dismissing the matter would be “in the interests of justice.”

Magistrate Judge Matthew J. Sharbaugh seemed visibly annoyed during the Tuesday hearing, saying the U.S. Attorney’s Office had been wasting the court’s time with felony charges that went nowhere. He said the office should have reviewed the evidence closely before bringing such a serious charge.

FELONY FIRST; REVIEW EVIDENCE SECOND!

Can she break the record? Several weeks ago I read that the last year they have available data on this, there were 9 cases no-billed in a single (fiscal) year. I think she can match it in the last 2 weeks of FY25. (That 9 cases in 1 FY was for all 94 districts in the federal court system.)
