Navy? Marines? Don't get your parade hopes up.

Army, Trump love a $40 million parade. But nothing is planned for Navy, Marines

Meanwhile, the Navy, which also celebrates its 250th anniversary in October, has no plans for a similar parade, according to a spokesperson. The Marine Corps, too, has its 250th in November, and does not appear to have a parade on tap either.

Well come on, you aren't allowed to drive ships on city streets, there's not enough crayons for the Marines to eat, and the President only has one birthday this year.

Air Force gets to play, but tough luck for the flying public. On the other hand, the odds of a B2/737 crash at DCA are minimized.

Flights at Reagan National will be suspended for Army’s 250th anniversary parade

“To accommodate aircraft flyovers along the parade route, followed by a fireworks display, the Federal Aviation Administration is expected to suspend airline operations at DCA — affecting scheduled flights,” the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority said on its website.

Sen. Todd Young (R-IN) wasn’t having it.

“Nope,” he said when asked if he planned on attending the Saturday spectacle, which is set to include warplanes, tanks and a multimillion-dollar military parade on the National Mall. When pressed on the cost, the Indiana lawmaker pivoted.

Sen. Deb Fischer (R-NE) said she wouldn’t be in Washington, D.C., then gazed blankly into a Senate elevator as its doors closed after remarking, “But I wish I was.”

Sen. Ted Budd (R-NC) stayed silent for eight seconds, grinned, and slipped into another elevator when asked his thoughts on the paradeon Wednesday, HuffPost reported.

“No comment,” Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) said. “No comment.” While Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) simply said she doesn’t “do hallway interviews.”

And as for Rand Paul, Trump disinvited him from the White House picnic.

Some former military won't be there.

About 60 people arrested after veterans' anti-ICE demonstration in Washington, DC, police say

Some protesters will be charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest

Roughly 60 demonstrators were arrested on Friday outside the U.S. Capitol after breaching a police line of bike racks and advancing toward steps leading to the Capitol Rotunda, according to Capitol Police.

According to organizers, the group of veterans and military family members planned a sit-in on the Capitol steps to protest President Donald Trump's deployment of the National Guard and active-duty Marines in Los Angeles to respond to anti-ICE protests, as well as a military parade scheduled for Saturday.

Two arrestees were transported to a local hospital for further treatment.

The protest was organized by two advocacy groups, About Face: Veterans Against the War and Veterans for Peace.

I mean, I guess if you step over -- well sort of shuffle roll across -- the police line, it's a valid arrest.

The Trump administration is planning a June 14 military parade through the streets of Washington, D.C., to mark the president’s 79th birthday.
And here I thought that was being done because it was the 250th Anniversary of the US Army not the random birthday of some random person. I wonder if people born on Dec 25 think everyone else is really celebrating their special day and Santa only comes to their house.

You guys really need to get a life. You were OK with a senile doddering old man with this finger on the nuclear button (assuming he could find it (his finger that is, not the button)) but go ballistic because DJ and the US Army were born on the same day. Wow, what hatred can really do to some people.....

The Navy and Marine Corps also have 250th birthdays this year, but I’ve not heard anything about parades for them.

I wonder if any of the other branches of the service will get tens of millions of taxpayer dollars spent on their anniversaries.

Yes, I for one am okay with Biden in control of the nuke button.
Far better than someone who fantasizes and doesn't understand why just don't use it.
I mean after all, we got it.

They already have something similar, although not a parade. The Navy Blue Angels have airshows which is how the Navy gets its parade.
Do you think $45 million for a parade once in 250 years is outrageous? A Blue Angels airshow costs $1,250,000 and takes place 60 times---every year. That adds up to $75 million per year. 18.75 Billion is what that comes out to over 250 years.
Math doesn't lie.
