Then at the very end of Ezekiel - you need to distinguish between what was for Ezekiel's day - and what was symbolic language depicting the final showdown on Judgement Day.

Try answering these questions when reading Old Testament prophecy:
Who was the prophet speaking to and about? Who is their immediate audience and what is the issue of their day? Is there an immediate crisis in their generation that they are addressing? Are they encouraging their generation? Rebuking them? Or a bit of both?

What would THEIR audience have made of the message?

Is there already an existing body of images or metaphors that prophet is drawing on that would unpack the message to his audiences ears - before we jump in with our modern concerns of 2500 years later and totally smother the passage with our agenda.

Eg: Is their message actually a judgement on ancient Israel that is fulfilling the covenant warnings and prophecies of even older Israel standing before Moses and hearing the lessons of Deuteronomy?

Or is it a message of comfort to Israel that they have now see ed their time and are about to go back into the land - and to prepare the way for the Messiah to arrive?

Unless we ask these basic questions first - we are not practicing good reading - let alone good Bible study or scholarship.

Therefore according to your poor choice of a LITERALISTIC reading of a symbolic text - the AOD happens BEFORE the Lord’s return. (An entirely silly presupposition on an end times scheme - as the AOD happened in AD 70.)

It seems obvious that the Wisdom described in Proverbs, is Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1:15 Christ is the image of the invisible God, for by Him everything was created.
His instructions are as given to us by His prophets and personally in the New Testament. We are told in many passages to ‘fear the Lord’, that is: hate evil, pride, arrogance, cruelty, subversive talk and sinful actions. Not really impossible for us, is it?

My bishop, the entire reformed Sydney Anglican theological scene - they all show how 'these things' that were hidden from the wise and learned has NOTHING to do with you and your little Sci-Fi story. And not much to do with the Return! It's more about salvation for God's people through the gospel events themselves. That is - read the gospels and Galatians and Corinthians - and you see that those who follow worldly philosophy reject the gospel of Jesus. This 'secret' is that God was going to fulfil the promise to Abraham to bless the whole world through Israel by sending his son to die.

Millennialists can often have trouble reading apocalyptic scripture. What is this about? The future or the past?​

Sorry - it's about the past. It's Acts 2 - not about your Sci-Fi story.
It's Peter explaining that it's only 9 o clock in the morning and the disciples are not drunk.
It's about the gospel being fulfilled THEN - 2000 years ago!

Remember the sun went dark as the Lord died?
Remember how blood was part of the judgement on Egypt, and fire was in the Lord's column that went before them?
THIS is the great and glorious day of the Lord - but it's now split! It's now 2 events - not 1.

Imagine your driving down the road and you think you see a huge tree high up on a hill - a vast great tree - but when you get there you realise this one huge colossal structure is actually made up of 2 trees? That is how the Day of the Lord is.

The Old Testament Day of the Lord speaks of God's judgement then and there in various instances and situations.
It gradually builds to this huge picture involving both a saviour king and day of judgement in the final prophets in the OT.

That is why many Jews rejected Jesus message of a suffering servant king - because they also wanted the immediacy of the military leader that would kick out the Romans. That is why Peter rebuked Jesus about all this death talk, and bought a sword!

But no. The day of the Lord's salvation arrived - and it was different to what many expected. The tree split in 2. It fulfilled both the salvation of God's people from sin AND the judgement of all God's enemies - on the cross. But the real judgement could happen in 5 seconds or another 50,000 years - we just don't know.

THIS fulfils Daniel 7 - when one like a son of man comes before the Ancient of days. He's going TO the father in victory - after the cross! It's how Hebrews 1 reports it, as it also reports all prophecies were fulfilled and wrapped up in the gospel!

See that? Verse 3? That's Daniel 7's son of man.

This is why there's no room for subjective visions helping us understand the Old Testament - the New Testament explains everything we need to know to us! The gospel word is the last word we need. And if our questions do not give us all the answers we might want? Tough. The bible says they are enough! So I'll just have to wait till I meet the Lord to understand certain other issues. The one place I'm NOT going to turn to? My own subjective experiences and vibes - because I KNOW how Geeky and speculative I am - and how much I like GOOD Sci-Fi. THE LORDS WRATH – how will it happen?

What these (and many other) prophecies, seem to be describing is sunspot activity.
Maybe the sun is building up to a huge Coronal Mass Ejection, something we do experience with minor CME’s. They happen very suddenly and unexpectedly, reaching earth within hours and are capable of causing enormous damage and deaths worldwide.
All electrical and communications systems, industry, transport; our modern infrastructure could be destroyed, or at least severely damaged. Armies would be back to 1800’s technology.

A CME explosion of the suns surface, as described in Isaiah 30:26, with the sun flashing 7 times brighter, would be one of unprecedented magnitude and would literally cause all the graphically Prophesied effects. For example; the moon would shine bright red as it reflects this suns explosive flash, plus a thermoluminescent reaction between the metallic oxides of the moon with the superheated Hydrogen mass and our satellites would crash to the earth, like ripe figs falling.

The shipments, which are expected to reach Iran in the coming months, include ammonium perchlorate, a key component in the solid propellant used for ballistic missiles. Sources indicated that these materials could potentially fuel hundreds of missiles.

The recent special International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) report on Iranian nuclear violations added many points, one being that Iran carried out multiple implosion tests, a key military skill necessary for developing the atomic bomb. Implosion tests do not have civilian nuclear uses.

The fact that it carried out various explosive tests also suggests that Iran is further along in other skills needed for developing a nuclear bomb, besides just enriching uranium, than many observers may have thought.

Intelligence sources inform us that Iran has ordered a shipload of ammonium hypercholrate from China. The only real use for that is rocket fuel.
