This may affect migrant workers but corporatism destroyed farming as an independent occupation 50 years ago. Small communities thrived with multiple family farms that soon gave way to industrial owned complexes. I doubt this way of life a half century ago will ever return, as will not the communities they supported. Free enterprise is dust in the wind and so is individual independence.

The average farm has stayed at around 450 acres since 2000. Of course, the number of farmers and farm are going down.

Farms need to get back to local producing product, grown organic and sold in the community county and surrounding area where they located.

Oh? And what of the tens of thousands of family farms that vanished in the prior 40 years? And where are the small thriving towns that were supported by scores of farms rather than a couple of big farms today, the result of corporatism. I watched rural civilization disappear. This is an old game that started a half century ago. The concept was many sharing in the wealth rather than the few regardless of what output they may have. The concept today is directly the opposite.

IMO, no one deserves what is imminent, not even those who voted for him. Ignorance of an outcome (even when warned) does not, IMO, mean you deserve said outcome.

I drive my car, knowing it is the most dangerous form of transportation and full well what could happen. That does not mean I deserve to be in an accident.

When those that voted for him lose their jobs, their healthcare, their Medicaid, their homes, or whatever they lose, I do not feel any us of should sit back and preach they deserved it just as we should not preach that to those who did not vote for him.

We all make mistakes, and sometimes those mistakes are catastrophic. That should not exclude us from forgiveness or much needed assistance.

Yes because there is no money in it.

100 years ago a third of your wages would have gone to food.

Raise food prices and the farms come back because all of a sudden its possible to afford a few children on a farms income. Ultimately people dont do what is not profitable to do...

This is what killed the small farms when suddenly in the early 70's the prices quadrupled almost overnight.. forcing the small farmer to sell out as even affordable used equipment dried up. It took 10 sections of land to support a farmer where as half section previously did the job. An increase in food prices has little affect on sustainability, considering most farms don't raise food but forage and oils for human and animal consumption in factory farms and corn for the obesity industry. Most products in the stores are simple sugar and starch by-products, not the meat and veggies most think abounds on dinner tables. Processed is in, and natural out. Its a win win for those at the top of the ladder.

Its just simple economics. Humanity moves on, improvements are made and the knowledge needed to remain Relevant is ever increased.

Farmers can make money live streaming everything while plainly explaining its 6 of 1, half a dozen of another to repair equipment or buy new equipment while leveraging the market to afford the new equipment.

The old days were not only efficient but beneficial to the masses instead of a few. My values are not yours. 10's of thousands of farms supported the businesses of many. Now a few farmers support a few, both the farmers, farmers, towns and businesses of old having gone extinct at the hands of Corporatism, the new god and world government. And you think this is progress?
