The pop top was developed by a tool and die maker, close to my hometown; Dayton Ohio. Story was, he was at a picnic, and didn't have a can opener for his beer. Necessity, the mother of invention.Thought this might make for a fun thread. Post things you remember from way back when.
I remember the time before microwave ovens. When we got pizza, the cardboard box had re-heating instructions, and it took 20 to 30 minutes to re-heat a couple of leftover slices. Now it takes 30 seconds.

People would litter and throw them on the ground, and it would hurt if you were walking around barefoot in the summer and stepped on one.
I remember the first time I ever heard of something having ranch flavor, I wondered "what does a ranch taste like"?I remember when there were only 2 flavors of Doritos - Taco, and the "new" Nacho Cheese flavor. When my kids were small (80's) Cool Ranch was new.

I still have a very similar kitchen table. A little bigger, but the same pink-ish color. There's a tablecloth on top to hide it. It still functions fine as a table, so I've not found any reason to replace it.I remember when kitchen tables looked like this:

We asked our mother why she ironed underpants and socks because nobody will ever see them , and her answer was well what if you get run over by a bus , still trying to figure that one out .....
