Sounds like some staffer likely didn't fine-tune their questions enough when trying to have AI do their assignment for them.
I say that because, according to The Hill:
A spokesperson for DOD Education Activity told The Hill the department is reviewing its current policies and instructional resources in light of recent executive orders from President Trump and Department of Defense guidance.
“At this time, we are conducting a review — no materials have been permanently removed from our school libraries pending completion of the review. During this period, materials under review will have access limited to professional staff,” according to a statement from the department.
So, it sounds like they used some sort of mechanism like AI, and probably didn't ask it specific enough questions, and it returned a list of the books, and now they're going to manually review the automated output.
Oh geez. IT's a CHILDREN'S book. Before they take steps to BAN a book, they aren't even willing to READ the thing themselves? bah.
ludicrous.
