A constitutional amendment takes a 2/3 supremajority in the house and senate, ain't gonna be happening anytime soon and everybody knows this, it's all flattery from a congressman that's trying to gain favor with the presidentElsewhere I qualified my prediction saying that a Senator would suggest it…with the meaning that Representives have been known to make kooky suggestions from time-to-time.

I Disagree, presently SCOTUS is in a 6/3 conservative majority, and cases are before the court daily shaping US law and policy and will be in 2029I agree a constitutional amendement will not happen. However, I am not confident the Consitution will guide the country's decsions by 2029.

Yeah, when I read there was a "convincing argument" I guess I expected more than a guess that maybe over a hundred years of settled case law was somehow wrong for you know, reasons and such. You are assuming the interpretation you believe is correct will stand. It is possible that may not be the case when it gets to the Supreme Court.
I hope you're right, God willing!President Trump will be done on Jan 20, 2029, it will be the young brilliant (VP JD Vance) for eights years after Trump, MAGA "America First"!
Oh?Oh? Would Trump skipFredoDon Jr?
How did case law work out for Roe?Yeah, when I read there was a "convincing argument" I guess I expected more than a guess that maybe over a hundred years of settled case law was somehow wrong for you know, reasons and such.
But perhaps that's what passes for sophisticated conservative political thought these days.
Just a clump of words….How did case law work out for Roe?
Either measure requires the full process of a Constitutional amendment. The 22nd amendment was ratified in 1951. So it would just be a matter of the 1951 ratification being repealed via proper channels and procedure. A proviso could be added that it only applies to non-consecutive terms which so far only happen once every 125 years.
So yes it could happen, and without Trump doing a dictator maneuver.
It would be a direct democracy. And we do have that in a lot of states. If regular citizens could propose laws and get them passed, it would then be a democracy.
DEI is not based on Congressional legislation (unlike Affirmative Action). DEI in the federal government was instituted by Executive Order and can be removed by Executive Order. Why not? President Trump already eliminated DEI, why not outlaw the Democrats?
It’s a Constitutional Amendment not a mere Act of Congress.I Disagree, presently SCOTUS is in a 6/3 conservative majority, and cases are before the court daily shaping US law and policy and will be in 2029
I’m sorry, is this not the thread about repealing the 22nd Amendment?I don't see how your response ties into the conversation between myself and wing2000?
Last time it was said that Mike Pence would follow for 8 years after Trump, with a line of succession of Trump's children predicted after that.President Trump will be done on Jan 20, 2029, it will be the young brilliant (VP JD Vance) for eights years after Trump, MAGA "America First"!
