Someone on these forums predicted this..It's sooner than I expected.
Then again it came from Andy Ogles, who happens to be the congress person who does not represent me in my gerrymandered district.
I presume he's trying to get in Trump's good graces to avoid the ramifications of his unethical conduct.

That would work since non-consecutive terms in office has only happened twice 127 years apart.

That's pretty old. But then again Warren Buffet and George Soros who are both 94, are still going strong running their business empires. I think if Trump does a good job and is still going strong in 28, this current non-consecutive presidency would deserve a second term.

The 22nd amendment was ratified in 1951. So it would just be a matter of the 1951 ratification being repealed via proper channels and procedure. A proviso could be added that it only applies to non-consecutive terms which so far only happen once every 125 years.

So yes it could happen, and without Trump doing a dictator maneuver.

He would need to have the support of democratic party members and democratic party led states to repeal or modify an amendement.

There is a constitutional way, but the chance of it happening is negligible.

It happened 5 months earlier than you predicted.

I find the notion proposterous on its face. otoh, since I've had the joy of interacting with Andy Ogles a few times; I'm not really too surprised at all.

Even if Trump fails securing a third term, he can remain in power through a more advisory type role via a JD Vance presidency.
