  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Will you accept the election results?

Will you accept the results of the Presidential elections after the President elect is sworn in?

We still have candidates from one of the two major parties refusing to accept the outcome of the previous election. Rational doesn't have much to do with the GOP's stance on this matter to date.
oh... sorry for a second there I thought you were talking about Hillary... my bad.

I have to accept the results, since I'm not crazy. But a lot of Trump supporters have never excepted Biden, being president. And still call Trump president.

See how easy that was... anyone can do it.
And it is absolutely meaningless....

Come January, Biden will no longer be President.

Congratulations to all those who voted for Trump. Commiserations to those that voted for Harris. I sincerely hope that this all turns out better than I fear.

Republicans should have stopped him earlier instead of selling their souls.
Perhaps you should think before you post.
You just suggested that Christians who voted for Trump are going to hell.
You should repent before God for assuming that you have such authority to condemn His children.
Seriously...

This isn't a very logical position.

My home town team is made up of players from...I have no idea. I wasn't interested in any of them before they joined the team or before they broke into it from the under 21s. I'm sure it was mentioned when they started playing first team football but frankly I wasn't that interested in who they played for, how well they played then or why they joined. If they played for any opposing side then I would have joined others in making sure we thought they were useless.

But it's my team. It's a team I have supported since my dad used to sit me on his shoulders in the stand when I was about 6 or 7. So I want them to win. They may not do the right things now and then and I'll be frustrated. But if they're on my team they'll get my support through thick and thin.

Harris is like the manager. She represents the team. If she wins then the team wins.
This isn't a very logical position. But it speaks of everything that's wrong in politics.

Politics aren't team sports, every politician has their own policies and priorities and stands on their own. Though as you said, the president tends to be the manager/captain of those who have a general agreement so Harris being unlikeable and having policies that people are uneasy with should make her "team" unlikeable and make people uneasy with her "team". Blind loyalty because of the political badge that a person wears and what color they represent undermines the value of your vote.

Adults pick their candidates on policies not party.

If the team is playing the way you want them to play (the sporting equivalent of policies) then you support the team, which includes the manager. He or she gets your backing.

Considering most people seem to have had the attitude "well, she's not great but she's what we got." I'm not sure that's the case for a number of people. And since the manager has a major role in deciding how the team plays, then it would seem you'd first need to support the manager before deciding whether you support the team. Though most party loyalists don't really take the time to evaluate what policies they'd like, and instead only like the policies because they're the policy their party is pushing.

Can you name two?
How about thousands?

Or maybe the holiday celebrated in 2017

Or perhaps the protest shouting - not my President

Important details of Savedbygrace's post was people who "have never" accepted Trump's first win, and "still" call Hillary president.

News from 2017 is nonresponsive.
