You don't see, or intentionally avoid the many scriptures which emphasise the importance of the Holy Land.
God gave all that area to Abrahan AND to his descendants. Genesis 15:18
You intentionally avoid how the New Testament over-abundantly over-fulfils those promises and more.
We worship Jesus, but our destiny is to live in all of the holy Land; Romans 9:24-26
First - Romans says from there we shall be called his people. It doesn't say we will LIVE there.
Which city was Jesus executed in? The one who makes us a people?
Exactly! Now you understand. You're welcome.
Meanwhile - you seem to be mixed up about how the bible works. While the Old Testament predicts the new and looks forward to Jesus - it does not interpret the New Testament - but provides a background for it. The New Testament interprets the Old. It's just how it works!
So in a way - while all God's word - John 4 interprets the Old Testament verses that you quote.
"a time is coming when you will worship the Father neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem. 22 You Samaritans worship what you do not know; we worship what we do know, for salvation is from the Jews. 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”
Also - 1 Peter explains that just being Christian - where-ever you are geographically - includes you in this list!
1 Peter 2
"9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy."
But where does 1 Peter say they are? From chapter 1:
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces of Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia and Bithynia, 2 who have been chosen according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through the sanctifying work of the Spirit, to be obedient to Jesus Christ and sprinkled with his blood: Grace and peace be yours in abundance.
Oops. It seems relationship with Jesus - not geography - is important.
Hebrews 11 explains Abraham's quest for the promised land wasn't that important - because he was actually looking to heaven. Hebrews explains that the sacrificial system has been completely replaced by Jesus - and we don't need it any more and it would be a heresy to go back to it. The temple was still standing then but was going to 'fade away'. Hebrews 12 shows that our Mount Zion is the HEAVENLY Jerusalem (verse 22) and the rest of Hebrews 12 explains that what we are inheriting is not even created, but eternal!
The old preterist ploy of offhandedly biffing prophesies into past history, without a smidgin of proof of their actual fulfilment.
Unless an actual, recorded, matching event like Isaiah 13:9-13, for example: can be provided, then we can dismiss your beliefs and expect a genuine and complete fulfilment of most Prophesies, in the future.
I know you don't respect normal peer-reviewed theological processes or even phrases - but try not to get Preterism and Partial-Preterism mixed up. One is a heresy, and one is a legacy of the Reformation and a respected biblical theology and eschatology. When you mix them up, it just
looks bad. (I'm trying to do you a favour.)
