  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

A new survey from the Rainey Center, a D.C.-based policy-research think tank, found that only 9% of American voters think the American Dream is more attainable today.

"I think we're in very scary territory, especially if Kamala Harris is elected," McArdle said, referring to upward economic mobility and the American Dream. McArdle expressed better faith in Trump to revive a more optimistic view of the American Dream.

My 3rd Party candidate has fears for the country as well. The American Dream was never really a thing, but it has become less attainable in 2024 compared to 50 years ago. The American Solidarity party is worried that Democrats could turn our country woke.

Quote from the Evening Times: "Arkansans who don’t want to vote for former President Donald Trump or Vice President Kamala Harris will have four other candidates to choose from, not including Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who has left the race but will remain on the ballot.
The ASP (www.solidarityparty.org) was incorporated in 2016 and largely bases its platform on a Christian worldview and Catholic social teaching, Sonski said. Its website says its presidential candidate received 42,305 votes nationwide in 2020. That included 1,713 in Arkansas, or 0.14% of the vote statewide. The party believes in the sanctity of human life and that all public policies should benefit human beings. 'We start with that foundation, and we are pro-life from womb to tomb, as we like to say,' he told me.

The [ASP] party does not fit neatly into the left-right spectrum. It opposes abortion but also capital punishment. It has a conservative view of marriage as a union between one man and one woman. At the same time, some of its policies concerning environmental stewardship, labor rights and marginalized people might put it more on the left side of the spectrum. Sonski supports social programs but believes those often can be better managed at the local level or privately."

So how does a vote for your 3rd party candidate prevent Kamala from turning our country woke?
