The unborn are not people.
In this case, my viewpoint comes from the idea that those who aren't pregnant don't get to decide how the pregnancy should be handled.
-- A2SG, not pregnant....
Same arguments used to justify slavery in the US.The unborn are not people.
That's your view. A pregnant woman may view the issue differently. There is no none of the above. It’s either okay to terminate a pregnancy or it’s not.
Thank you for agreeing with my argument. The majority of humanity plus both political parties feels that it is. You seem to oppose democracy for some reason.
How can a pregnant view that statement differently? This should be good. That's your view. A pregnant woman may view the issue differently.
And only one person gets to decide.
-- A2SG, and it ain't me...
My viewpoint isn't hard to understand. The pregnant woman is the only person who gets to decide how to deal with her pregnancy. No one else gets a vote. How is your "idea" not merely a reconstituted and veiled vehicle for carrying on the corrupt and demographically focused ideology of someone like Margaret Sanger? Help me out here so I can understand your viewpoint better.
Nice dodge. I’m kinda surprised. You'd have to ask her.
-- A2SG, hope it lived up to your expectations...
Not a dodge at all. It's completely consistent with what I've been saying all along.Nice dodge. I’m kinda surprised.
Maybe endless repetition of "abortion is murder" isn't furthering the conversation either.Christians are going to say otherwise, and what's more, coming onto a Christian public forum and repeating the mantra "The unborn are not people" ad infinitum isn't going to convince or deter any Christians here from continuing to advocate for an essentially Christian viewpoint.
So, maybe save yourself the effort and the wasted time ... ???
You implied that a woman may have at least a third way of looking at it. I’m asking what that third way might be. I don’t think you need to be a woman to answer that. Not a dodge at all. It's completely consistent with what I've been saying all along.
-- A2SG, refer back to when I said I wasn't gonna say a word about the morality of it....
I completely disagree. The unborn are not people.
Saying something is wrong is about morality? I mean if killing people is wrong, then I guess it’s about morality. That’s ok then.Well, just a few posts back there was a post insisting this had nothing to do with morality. Seems there's not a lot of consistency in the claims here. Makes one wonder what the real story actually is.
They made their choice. Actions lead to consequences. No one is being forced. In one case, the fact a couple consented to having sex is used as an excuse to force one of the people to give up bodily autonomy as a result. But the same assumed consent disappears there when the question is a slightly different question of bodily consent.
Seemed pretty clear to me, and shows the whole idea isn't based on some consistent logical principles but instead a poorly thought out post hoc rationalization for wanting to force women to carry children to term.
Maybe endless repetition of "abortion is murder" isn't furthering the conversation either.
