  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Yes. I'm aware of what circumcision is and it's effects. Why do you feel this is relevant?
Someone else brought up circumcision, not me.

Well, I'm glad you've settled that between you.

It has always seemed to me that the people who are least considered in the culture war against trans people are - trans people. It is as if their happiness was secondary to the ideological stance of people of a certain religious bent.
It’s like this:
If transgender people don’t know their place, someone is going to have to remind them.

That’s all our Christian friends are doing, “maintaining order”, because if we don’t have order you’ll have people running around, being free, doing things that they want. Legal things that don’t hurt anyone, like being left-handed, or opening their store on Sunday or loving “the wrong” people.

Perhaps you can see our religious friends’ angst?

If a particular religious group has an objection to transition then ban it - for members. No religion has rights over non-members. I think that is a pretty well enshrined principle in America.
The days when religion dictates “what is acceptable” have been over for a while now, funny how much vitriol is expended over people being free to live their life as they please.

As usual indoctrinating children is the primary focus of transgenderism/lgbtqiaxyz+. Or is that still being denied even though it's so blatantly obvious.
I think we need to distinguish between indoctrination (a quasi-religious concept) and information. In my opinion keeping children ignorant is usually a mistake. Proper, responsible, age appropriate information should be available to children. Many children are likely to come into contact with the idea of people being transgender and in some cases knowing such people personally as family members or class-mates.

It is better to learn from well-presented books and responsible adults than to pick up distortions and half-truths in the school yard.

Children are being saturated in transgenderism/lgbtqiaxyz+.

You have offered no evidence that children are being indoctrinated, much less that it is the primary focus of an LGBT "agenda." or even if LGBT "activists" think it is possible. Even drag queens don't think they can turn kids gay by reading to them. Teaching kids what LGBT really is and encouraging them to treat their LGBT classmates as fellow human beings is not indoctrination.

But nobody seems to be able to tell me about how many hours of class time is spent on the subject.

Why do they need to be dressed up that way when reading to children? It makes zero sense to me. Yuck.

None really. It might be mentioned in passing, but not actually taught.

I went to vote in a middle school and there were signs up regarding L-Q projects in the school. They are going after the kids or things like that wouldn't exist where 12 year olds are exposed to it.

Leaving the sexuality out of it for the moment, it's fun to dress up funny and it's fun to see people who are dressed up funny and if nothing else it will help the kids take conventional dress less seriously.

That is pretty thin. Information is no indoctrination. Facts are not propaganda.

Your knowledge of middle school education is based on a single visit to one school lasting ten minutes? Your are an expert now?

Free to live their lives "as they please"? Does that include incest, polygamy, polyamory, pedophilia, prostitution, etc.? If not, why not?

Religion merely proposes, only the government imposes. Not so long ago, most religions taught, and governments opposed divorce, homosexual acts, and all other deviant sex acts as immoral. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 changed that mind set and an individual's power to bring discrimination lawsuits allowed the gays out of the closet, soon the cross-dresses came out, and now the transgenders are coming out. How long until abusers of animals claim their "civil rights" to live as they please?

No, because we have decided that some of those things should be illegal.

It depends on whether we decide it should be legal or not.

You beg the question.

Why are some sexual acts illegal and others, previously illegal, are now legal? What principle(s) that determines the legality and illegality of sex acts changed?
