Is the abbess of a woman’s monastery always called “Mother” instead of “Sister?” Do the former abbesses still retain the title of Mother even if they are no longer in charge?

Do monks and nuns go from seeker to postulant to novice to first vows as monk or nun and final profession as monk or nun? Or how long does it take?

(That’s the typical way in the west…and it usually takes around 9 years).

That means Sr Vassa is actually a novice? I always thought she was a nun.

From my experience in Greece, nuns were all referred to as "sister", apart from the abbess

I'm not sure. Once he shared a post that he was in good standing with ROCOR but then I saw an interview that he used to be part of the Greek Old Calendarists who are not in communion with us.

I thought he was a schismatic. That was years ago when I'd first saw/heard of him on youtube. Imo, he isn't very Christian, let alone, Orthodox Christian.

he was. his usual MO is he goes off his meds, leaves the Church, returns after repentance and coming back on his meds. he needs prayers.
