  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

First you have to identify "the left." If you mean anybody that opposes MAGA then you will never know, because there are too many different views, not all of them compatible. That's what I am trying to tell you, there is no "leftist agenda."
Here is what someone on this forum just posted about the right
“The few Republicans of principle have either died, left the party, ousted, or are called RINOs. And what's left is the the raw center, which was never about principles, values, but a lawless a savage barbarism only interested in power. Religion, morals, law and order, etc were always a mask. The mask has eroded, and all that's left is the blatant reality: The Republican Party is a godless, barbarous, amoral, unprincipled collection of degenerates, liars, thieves, cheats, and clowns; made up of the entirely inept on the one hand, and the entirely unscrupulously wicked and scheming on the other.”
So stop complaining about what’s said on this forum about the left

Why? Whoever that was gave his opinion and you are free to challenge it, just as I am challenging the "leftist conspiracy" nonsense.

That's what I think every time Biden pops up asking for money while I'm scrolling through youtube clips.
At least a pitch for direct campaign donations (to Biden or Trump) is going to back their candidate of choice. This "merch" is just strait pitch to suckers.

So it's better to just flush your money instead of getting something in return.

I think that's his point. As Candice Owens said, "Life is hard. Buy a helmet."

I will wait and see what he actually does.
So how does that work? You say you'll vote for Trump because he can fix the economy, it's explained to you that it's humming along very well indeed, you claim that immigrants are taking US jobs and show nothing to back that up...and now you effectively say that you'll vote for him 'and
see what he actually does.'

So you have no idea what he plans, how it's going to work and what it might possibly fix.

You think keeping prices down by paying poor immigrants subpar wages is a good thing?
But you care about these people doing jobs “that no one else will do “?
It doesn’t sound like it
These people are taken advantage of and in my area pay outrageous prices for housing and work at catfish farms, tree farms and in construction then 20 of them live in a 2 bedroom house that they pay enough rent on that each one could have their own house if they were legal.
You think this is a good thing?
No, I don't. I would demand decent wages for them. But nobody in your part of the world seems interested. So why don't you write your congressman or woman and say that you're quite prepared to pay more at the supermarket and pay that living wage. As opposed to putting them all in a cattle truck and dumping them all in Mexico. And sure, the Mexicans will just accede to that just as they did when they found out that they had to pay for a wall.

Honestly, has anyone who is going to tick the box next to Trump's name come November actually thought any of this through? It's a serious question. You're a bright guy but you don't seem to have made any attempt to think what it all means when the rubber hits the road.

I am not sure thats an accurate reading of the economy. Notice the time period 2019 to 2024.
No, it's a very accurate reading. Tough luck if you don't like it, but facts aren't adjusted to suit your political whims.

If you'd rather give to Trump's legal fund, go ahead. The sellers of this "merch" would clearly like the buyers to think the money goes to support Trump, his campaign, or "MAGA" some how. It only goes to enrich the T-shirt seller.

Trump is a terrible candidate. It just shows how bad Biden really is that Trump is still a better choice than Biden.
I explained that the economy is not all that great because we are paying more for everything.
I didn’t say illegal immigrants are taking our jobs I said most new jobs went to foreign born workers.
They’re not illegal immigrants they’re here legally and many are filling tech jobs.
The new jobs created are way overstated because they are not new jobs, they are jobs recovered from the pandemic.
And I said that I think Trump will do a better job with the economy.
I may be wrong and he may spend all his time fighting lawsuits and criminal charges and trying to get revenge but I’m willing to take a chance because Biden is that bad.
I would vote for a cold, cheese sandwich over Biden, to borrow a phrase from someone else.

He's already been the president. So it can be reasonably ascertained how it's going to work and what it might possibly fix.

So people are going on and on about how connected Trump is to the merch when it comes to one pitch having "I was tortured" but otherwise the merch and Trump have nothing to do with each other.

I don't know what you are talking about with the "torture" merch. Is Trump selling that himself?

The so called facts are obvious misinformation. This is demonstrated in being told 'don't trust your own experiences with how much more you're paying and how less prosperous you are, that's just subjective and anecdotal, reality is found in this report'.

Then I am not sure why you only highlighted this part of my post. I will deal with this first. Its well acknowledged that costs for food, essentials, cars, real estate, building costs, transport, energy costs, just about everything has massively go up in a very short time almost trippling costs.
Paaarp. That's a fail. But I'll note that we've gone from tripling to 'almost trippling.' Which is still a claim that can't even be described as hyperbole. So the rest of your post was again ignored.

You can't base a post on something that is patently untrue and then run off in all directions based on that farcical claim. Just imagine you're having a debate with a guy in a bar. You start your point by saying that the cost of living has tripled and...there'll be an immediate interjection. 'Whoa, whoa, buddy. That's obviously not the case.'

So you have to adjust your claim to something sensible so the discussion can continue. You haven't. So it can't.

My family believes the entire trial was fake. That the jurors are all Democrat plants picked by Joe Biden. There could not have been ANY evidence that they would have accepted.

And the reason is that they are brainwashed idiots who don't believe in education, critical thinking, or evidence.
Did you tell them that Trump's lawyer approved of them when picking the jury?

Trump is now a known quantity. He may be a bad candidate but he's an amazing president. Look what he did, even under constant attack for nonsense like "Russiagate".

FWIW, I cringe every time I hear him speak. So I apply the same rule to him as I do all politicians. I ignore what he says and watch what he does.

But it's been pointed out what the situation is with the economy. It's doing better than almost every other country on the planet. So if that's the economy you get with Biden in charge, how would Trump improve that? You've been asked and you have no idea - we'll just wait to see what he does...

And please, gimme a break on him spending time fighting lawsuits. You're not anywhere naive enough to think it all disapears if he wins in November.

You can't ignore what he says. It's what you must base your vote on. The man's 'policies', and I make no excuse for the scare quotes, are monstrously idiotic. What on earth have you heard him say that makes some sense to you?
