• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

This Fusion Reactor Will Make Electricity by 2024?

I would ask that we all try to stay on topic.

As far as creationism goes, that would be the creation of energy.
Extraction of energy. Energy can not be created or destroyed.

In particular the topic is a particular proposed fusion method, not politics.

Sorry comrade, I'm opposed to Authoritarianism in general, when it intrudes on personal liberty.
So you're using the internet. Do you know how much American government funding it took to get that beast going?

It was one guy,

Tim Berners-Lee invented the World Wide Web while at CERN, the European Particle Physics Laboratory, in 1989.

I heard that it was Al Gore; but maybe that is just enough hot air to spin up a steam driven turbine.

Haha,

The first computer to computer started in 1957 by the U.S. military for tracking nukes and other stuff, not the internet as it is today. Tim Berners-Lee invented world wide connection abilities. The history of computers and the internet is interesting.

Internet. The WWW is just one application running on top of the internet backbone. There is also email, usenet, gopher, FTP, remote shells, X11, and a whole bunch more than http running over the internet protocol.

..But as has been revealed there are political aspects to this project.
It was (partially?) funded by the government. That is all. I know of no politics related to it, nor have I seen any in the posts you have previously made about Helion.

I don't count bare assertions as demonstrable Physics.

If you do, you can debate that here: Science Proves Creation
I told you why -- time invariance requires energy conservation. I've also been to that thread of yours and your initial post was refuted solidly multiple times. Been there, done that.

It changes nothing about the nature of the Helion reactor. It does not "create energy". It extracts energy from nuclear reactions.

You're entitled to your opinion, even if it flies in the face of the Laws of Thermodynamics.

As I'm sure you were told in that thread, the laws of thermodynamics tell you no such thing.

I have already expressed my thoughts on bare assertion fallacies; but this is not the thread for that conversation.

Can we get back on topic now?
