State convention delegates will choose one man and one woman to the national party’s governing body on Saturday in Columbus.

Kremer argues the RNC hasn't done enough to fight for Trump or protect others who fought for him, like the 16 Georgia Republicans who falsely claimed to be valid Trump electors in a state Joe Biden won.

Georgia's GOP has splintered. Gov. Brian Kemp created a rival fundraising and political operation after Trump attacked him for backing the 2020 election results. The fracture deepened when some party leaders supported former U.S. Sen. David Perdue's unsuccessful, Trump-backed challenge to Kemp in 2022. Neither Kemp nor his allies will attend the convention.

DOJ seeks 11 years for conservative scion Brent Bozell IV, saying he 'led the charge' on Jan. 6​

Bozell, also known as "Zeeker," smashed windows at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021, and was convicted of a host of charges in September, including five felonies. He is scheduled to be sentenced May 17. Federal prosecutors, in a sentencing memo filed late Friday, sought a terrorism sentencing enhancement for Bozell, saying that his actions were intended to affect the conduct of the government and that he made preparations for Jan. 6 because he "believed that the presidential election had been 'stolen' and thus planned to respond through violence."

A judge rejected the government request for terrorism enhancement but likened the actions of Leo Brent Bozell IV to those who spearheaded the riot.

While the judge likened Bozell’s conduct to that of Proud Boys’ member Dominic Pezzola and Texas Three Percenters recruiter Guy Reffitt — who similarly spearheaded rioters behind them to break into the building and overwhelm police — the 45-month sentence he handed Bozell was only a third of the nearly 12 years sought by prosecutors and years less than what Pezzola and Reffitt received.

Bozell, 44, of Palmyra, Pa., was convicted after a bench trial in September of 10 counts, including felony charges of assaulting police, rioting, destroying government property and obstructing Congress’s confirmation of the election.

FBI searches for growing [but single-digit] number of Jan. 6 fugitives​

Eric Bochene ... was defiant during some hearings, invoking language consistent with the sovereign citizen movement. In one set of court filings, Bochene unsuccessfully asked the court to pay him $75,000 an hour in fees for his legal services in his own case. Bochene signed one court filing with a red fingerprint.

Bochene failed to appear for a mandatory pretrial status conference in Washington, D.C. on July 18. A judge issued a warrant for Bochene's arrest, which led to Bochene's capture by U.S. Marshals in the southern tier of New York and a court appearance in Binghamton on Aug. 2.

Bochene, who pleaded guilty to the charge of entering a restricted building, faces up to one year in prison at sentencing in November. [But he has to stay in jail until sentencing, due to his vanishing act.]

Banuelos has not been arrested or charged in connection with Jan. 6; the Salt Lake City police had arrested him in connection with the fatal stabbing of 19-year-old Christopher Thomas Senn in a park on July 4, 2021.

Confronted with an overwhelming abundance of evidence, Dan Edwin Wilson, 48, of Louisville, pleaded guilty to conspiring to obstruct or injure a federal officer, as well as federal firearms offenses for possessing an unregistered firearm, the Justice Department announced Monday.

Prosecutors revealed Wilson’s premeditated plans dating back to winter 2020, using encrypted apps to organize violence. Referring to himself as a “gray ghost ranger” and hinting at militia ties, he discussed bringing firearms to D.C. for potential government takeovers.

Days before the attack, Wilson pledged allegiance to the cause: “I am ready to lay my life on the line. It is time for good men to do bad things.”

A Marine war veteran who prosecutors said carried “a tacticool tomahawk axe” into the U.S. Capitol during the Jan. 6, 2021, riot was sentenced Thursday to two years in federal prison.

Last week, Navarro asked district Judge Amit Mehta in Washington, DC, to allow him to cut 30 days off his prison sentence in exchange for 30 days of supervised release, citing the First Step Act. Mehta said no.

Jan. 6 rioter who attacked cops lashes out at Trump-appointed judge after 12-year sentence

Federal prosecutors had sought 14 years in federal prison for Christopher Quaglin, saying the New Jersey man was one of the most violent Jan. 6 rioters and "viciously assaulted numerous officers" after calling for "Civil War" and boasting about armed patriots storming the Capitol.

Quaglin gave a lengthy statement at his sentencing, lashing out at Judge Trevor McFadden after the 12-year sentence was imposed.

"You're Trump's worst mistake of 2016," Quaglin said to McFadden, who was appointed by Trump in 2017.

FBI arrests man on Jan. 6 assault charges with help of online sleuths and matching moles

The FBI arrested an alleged Jan. 6 participant in Maryland on Wednesday and charged him with assaults on law enforcement after it identified him with the help of online sleuths and by matching moles on his face to video from the 2021 Capitol attack.

Thomas Joseph “Tommy” Kelly Jr. faces charges of assaulting officers, assaulting officers with a deadly or dangerous weapon and civil disorder, along with several misdemeanors. The FBI said Kelly used a long pole to repeatedly strike officers inside the lower west tunnel leading into the Capitol, where some of the worst violence of the day took place.

Ex-Boston police officer who assaulted a Capitol Police officer with a chair on Jan. 6 is sentenced

A former Boston police K-9 officer who helped in the response to the Boston Marathon bombing was sentenced Friday to 20 months in prison for attacking a Capitol Police officer with a chair during the Jan. 6 riot.

Joseph Fisher of Plymouth, Massachusetts, was sentenced after a court hearing in which he called his actions that day "an abomination."

A Jan. 6 rioter dubbed "Sedition Panda" for the costume head he wore when he stormed the Capitol has been convicted on each of the eight charges he faced, including assaulting a police officer.

Jesse James Rumson was convicted Friday of assaulting Prince George’s County Cpl. Scott Ainsworth, a lifelong Republican who testified about the Jan. 6 riot during Rumson's trial last week.

In a 14-page motion filed over the weekend, Matthew Purdy formally requested the recusal of federal Judge Royce Lamberth. Purdy cited concerns over the judge's impartiality due to his public statements regarding the events of Jan. 6.

The filing pointed to a February story by Reuters that highlighted death threats the judge received after being assigned Jan. 6 cases.

I missed that the DOJ got its 1000th conviction. This isn't that though. It is another arrest for violence at the Capitol. This one starts in an unusual place on Jan 6th -- at the Washington Monument early in the morning as part of a mob angry at someone else's arrest and ended on the Capitol steps assaulting cops.
