Apparently Roger Stone had a Danish documentarian film crew following him around through the election and Jan 6 and afterwards.

Stone privately coordinated post-election protests with prominent figures, and in January he communicated by text message with leaders of far-right groups that had been involved in the attack on the Capitol, the footage shows.

A few hours before the Jan. 6 attack, the video shows, a member of the far-right Oath Keepers group — who has since pleaded guilty to seditious conspiracy — was in Stone’s suite at the Willard.

Stone used an encrypted messaging app later in January to communicate with Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes, who is also charged with seditious conspiracy, and Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio, the footage shows.

Not clear if this is the same crew, or if everyone was documenting their crimes, but:

DOJ: Film crew was present at Jan. 5 meeting between leaders of Proud Boys, Oath Keepers
The details provide new evidence of the encounter between the two groups, whose leaders played a key role in the breach of the Capitol the following day.

Prosecutors say a “documentary film crew” was present when Proud Boys leader Enrique Tarrio and Oath Keepers leader Stewart Rhodes met for 30 minutes in an underground parking garage on Jan. 5, 2021.

A federal judge Tuesday ordered Henry “Enrique” Tarrio, a longtime leader of the Proud Boys far-right group, to remain jailed pending trial on charges that he conspired with followers who planned in advance to threaten Congress and battle police at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. [federal law makes pretrial detention the default for defendants charged with certain offenses, including felony destruction of federal property.]

“There is overwhelming evidence that Tarrio organized a plot to corruptly obstruct, influence, and impede the certification of the electoral college vote, an offense that strikes at the heart of our democracy,” Assistant U.S. Attorney Jason McCullough argued in court filings. Even as Congress’s proceedings were still suspended Jan. 6, Tarrio posted to other members, “They’ll fear us doing it again,” prosecutors said. When a member asked, “So what do we do now?” he allegedly answered at 4:14 p.m., “Do it again.”

In seeking Tarrio’s detention, prosecutors added details to a 30-minute meeting between Tarrio, Rhodes and others in an underground parking garage in downtown Washington on Jan. 5, 2021, the day before prosecutors said their separate co-conspirators mobilized a “1776”-style revolt in encrypted message groups. Prosecutors asserted that during the encounter, which was partially recorded by a documentary film group traveling with Tarrio, the latter “told another individual that he had cleared all of the messages on his phone before he was arrested.” [So it sounds like he and Stone had separate film crews documenting their patriotism.]

New POW/MIA flag.

Don't worry, man, I've dedicated several threads to never forgetting these prisoners.

Has the narrative in certain circles morphed from "It wasn't an insurrection/it was a legitimate political protest" to "Those arrested are prisoners of war"?

Because, wow. That's uh, that's a thing right there. The persecution complex is certainly strong with some people.

Republicans have reaped what they sowed. They courted the wackadoodle vote back in the 70's and 80's, and now the chickens come home to roost.

There has been a lot more talk, from GOP Congresscritters even, about how the people being held before trial [due to the violent nature of their crimes, or because they are acting as their own lawyers (and are really bad at it)] are political prisoners.

Republicans Recast Jan. 6 Riot Defendants as ‘Political Prisoners’

MTG made a POW portmanteau a while back:
Marjorie Taylor Greene calls January 6 riot defendants "political prisoners of war"

But maybe this is the start of the next phase of propaganda.

'Cowboys for Trump' founder's January 6-related trial starts Monday

The second trial in the January 6 Capitol riot case is slated for Monday, with New Mexico county commissioner, self-proclaimed cowboy and noted conspiracy theorist Couy Griffin set to appear before a federal judge for a bench trial in Washington, DC.

The trial, with a bombastic arrival on horseback promised by the defendant, has lower stakes for Griffin than felony January 6 cases that will be heard by jurors in the coming months. Yet it still will highlight key details prosecutors must prove about participants' alleged crimes during the attack -- such as that the rioters jeopardized the security of the area where then-Vice President Mike Pence was visiting.

Griffin, a founder of the group "Cowboys for Trump," is charged with two misdemeanor offenses for his alleged actions during the attack: entering and remaining in a restricted area and disorderly and disruptive conduct.

[Griffin has elected not to have a jury trial; the case will be heard by a Trump-appointed judge.]

Midland Mayor says Jenny Cudd has ‘suffered enough’, recommends no punishment for role in Jan. 6 riots
The federal government says Cudd wore bulletproof gear to the Capitol.

The statement comes as a surprise not only because it comes from the city’s mayor, who defeated Cudd in the 2019 mayoral race, but also because of public outcry that Cudd has been treated too leniently throughout the case. Soon after her arrest, a judge allowed Cudd to go on vacation to Mexico.

The federal government is taking a different stance, recommending a judge sentence Cudd to 75 days incarceration, 60 hours of community service, and $500 restitution.

“I’m proud of everything that I was a part of today,” Cudd said in one video. “And I’ll be proud of everything that I’m a part of at the next one.”

Trump Rally Organizer Claims Trump’s Chief of Staff Was on Phone Call Planning Jan. 6 March on Capitol
Trump’s team agreed it would encourage supporters to march, but try to “make it look like they went down there on their own,” Scott Johnston tells Rolling Stone

According to [Scott] Johnston, [who worked on the team that helped plan the Ellipse rally,] Meadows, Pierson, and Kremer discussed the possibility of setting up a permit to make the march from the White House to the Capitol official. He says the trio decided against officially permitting the march, citing concerns about security costs and about the optics of a sitting president organizing a push towards Congress as lawmakers certified his loss in the 2020 election. Ultimately, Johnston tells Rolling Stone, they planned to “direct the people down there and make it look like they went down there on their own.”

Johnston also says he told investigators that he knew the call took place on a “burner phone” in the final days of 2020 because the discussion came right after Kylie Kremer directed him to purchase three phones for her group.

“I’m the one that bought the burner phones,” Johnston says.

Asked about Johns[t]on’s allegations, Kylie and Amy Kremer responded through their spokesman, Chris Barron. “The claim regarding the substance of any phone call between Katrina Pierson, Kylie Kremer, and Mark Meadows is absolutely false,” Barron wrote. “If anyone gave testimony to the J6 committee claiming that such a call took place and that was the substance of the call should be incredibly concerned — the last I looked lying to Congress was a crime.”

First Jan. 6 trial shows family, nation torn by Trump
Texas Three Percenters recruiter Guy Reffitt was briefly brought to tears as his son testified against him

The appearance of Jackson Reffitt, 19, on the stand against his father as a government witness briefly brought the elder Reffitt to tears.

“If you turn me in, you’re a traitor, and traitors get shot,” Jackson Reffitt testified his father threatened him and his younger sister said days after returning from Washington.

Explaining why he turned his father in to the FBI, Jackson Reffitt said despite causing a rift in his relationship with his mother and two sisters, and the prison term facing Guy Reffitt if convicted, the confrontation was “the best-case scenario” for them all.

He added that he spoke out publicly [after the arrest] believing, “it would be a good thing to talk about for a lot of families that are going through this. … There were hundreds of people on January 6, they all had families. Everyone is attached to them.”

Reffitt has pleaded not guilty to five felony counts, including obstructing a congressional proceeding and transporting firearms for unlawful use at a riot.

“If they won’t follow the Laws of the Land, [w]e have no reason to follow their laws,” he texted his family. “Time to remove them. That’s why I’m goin to DC.”

“I don’t care if Pelosi’s head is hitting every step, we’ll grab them out by their ankles.”

Last I read on here, this was a peaceful "discourse", and "no one" intended to take over or stop the congressional process, they just wanted to peacefully protest the process.

Guess not all the protestors got that memo if this was actually on his phone.

Couy Griffin, the founder of "Cowboys for Trump" who on Tuesday was convicted of illegally entering the U.S. Capitol during the January 6 riot, slammed GOP Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene for missing his trial.

After his ruling on Tuesday, Griffin addressed supporters and media outside of the courtroom, where he denounced the conviction and called out several Republican lawmakers for not showing up to the trial.

"I know Marjorie Taylor Greene personally," he said. "I didn't see Marjorie one time around this trial right here that's affecting January 6. I didn't see Louie Gohmert here. I didn't see Matt Gaetz."

[MTG is busy rushin' to the aid of someone else - "You see Ukraine kept just poking the bear and poking the bear, which is Russia,” she said during an interview on Rural America Network.]

Jan. 6 Insurrectionist Granted Asylum In Belarus, According To State Media

48-year-old Evan Neumann of California, aka the Jan. 6 Capitol insurrectionist who fled to Belarus last year to escape the FBI, has been granted asylum in the eastern European country, according to Belarusian state-owned news agency BELTA.

“I feel safe in Belarus. I’m calm, I like it in the country,” the refugee reportedly said, per BELTA. “Today I have mixed feelings. I’m glad because Belarus took care of me. I’m upset because I found myself in such a situation that problems arose in my native country.”

Some of those “problems” are the 14 criminal counts Neumann’s been indicted on, which include assaulting police officers and engaging in violence with a deadly or dangerous weapon, after he and the rest of the pro-Trump mob ransacked the Capitol on Jan. 6 last year.

Neumann is now on the FBI’s “Most Wanted” list.

OK Folks. The topic of this thread is

Jan 6 Breach of the Capitol: Consequences & Repercussions III

"Consequences & Repercussions" does not include "It was peaceful" vs. "it was violent".

I am watching this thread and will do clean up and threads bans if necessary.

What an absolute slap in the face of the real PoW's that flag is suppose to represent. Disgusting.

That's what I felt as well. Revulsion at such a grotesque display of stupidity and ignorance.

Justice Thomas’ wife reportedly urged Trump administration to overturn 2020 election

The Post reported that on Nov. 10, three days after the election and after the Associated Press and other news outlets declared Democrat Joe Biden the winner, Virginia Thomas, a conservative activist, texted to Meadows: “Help This Great President stand firm, Mark!!! ... You are the leader, with him, who is standing for America’s constitutional governance at the precipice. The majority knows Biden and the Left is attempting the greatest Heist of our History.”

Copies of the texts — 21 sent by her, eight sent in reply by Meadows — were provided to the House select committee investigating the deadly insurrection that saw a mob of Trump supporters overrun the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.

The texts do not directly reference Thomas’ husband or the Supreme Court. But she has previously admitted to attending Trump’s “Stop the Steal” rally that preceded the Capitol riot.

Thomas urged lawyer Sidney Powell, who promoted false claims about the election, to be “the lead and the face” of the Trump legal team.

[From Jan 10 after the breach of the Capitol] - “We are living through what feels like the end of America,” Thomas wrote to Meadows.

You don't think that people, who hate Trump, didn't dress up with Trump hats and shirts and "pose" as vandals?

Not a single such person has been identified, so NO.

I guess.... If your going to have an insurrection.. you want one like that. Other than the innocent and unarmed veteran shot and killed....

By "innocent", you mean she was leading an angry mob intent upon murdering elected officials?
Portland Oregon.... now that is news worthy..

Portland wasn't organized by a political party; it was a protest against murders committed by the police.

Maybe the police should stop murdering citizens, don't you think?

Florida man who took Pelosi’s lectern in Capitol riot is hosting ‘going to prison’ party

Before surrendering to serve 75 days in prison for his role in the Jan. 6 insurrection of the U.S. Capitol, including taking House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s lectern, Adam Johnson is hosting a “going to prison” party.

In a post made to the Facebook event page on March 20, Johnson wrote, “If this is your first prison party and are wondering what to bring, shivs, files, and phone cards are always appreciated.”

The spouse of a sitting USSC Justice is influencing the WH chief of staff to overturn an election? At the very least, Justice Tomas must recuse himself for any 2020 election related cases that come before the Supreme Court.

All federal judges, including Supreme Court justices, are subject to a federal law on recusal.

The law says that “any justice, judge or magistrate judge of the United States shall disqualify himself in any proceeding in which his impartiality might reasonably be questioned.”

A more specific provision concerning relatives, including spouses, might also apply to his situation. Judges should not participate, the law says, in proceedings in which their spouse has “an interest that could be substantially affected by the outcome of the proceeding.”

Professor Gillers said the word “interest” was the key.

“By writing to Meadows, who was chief of staff and active in the ‘Stop the Steal’ movement, she joined the team resisting the results of the election,” Professor Gillers said. “She made herself part of the team and so she has an interest in the decisions of the court that could affect Trump’s goal of reversing the results.”

Justice Thomas Ruled on Election Cases. Should His Wife’s Texts Have Stopped Him?
