No, I have not. Are you saying he never spoke of cartells/drugs etc. with the illegal immigration? If you say no, I will give it a watch, if he did mention it during the speech then, I see no need to. He has been like that about drugs etc since he came on the political stsge.
Just took a bit to find it. I could not. There were commentaries on his speech, prominant points in his speech, stuff like that. Can't just find the whole speech to listen to it. Could you be so kind as to provide a link?

Well the illegal immigrants are coming from 150 nations. Every shade of skin is found in their ranks.
The right wing media are soley focused on the Southern Border.
Most people that become illegal, enter the country legally, they don't enter illegally.

Ok...is it only a problem if the racism is directed at people who aren't white?
Perhaps start a thread on that. This thread is about "they are poisoning the blood of our country"

On the video he was talking about immigration, not drugs. He specifically pointed out they are coming in from Africa and from Asia.
No mention of from European countries.

Just go to youtube and search for "Poisoning the blood of our country"

It would be very very weird if that search doesn't find it for you straight away.

Ok I did look at you tube a 38 second clip. I did find a commentary where it said they are bringing in drugs, crime, terrorists etc. He said they are not sending us their best. So was speaking of the character of the people coming in.
Racist?
Is Christpher wray racist for warning us several times now of the same?
No neither are......

Sounds like you are talking about a clip from 7-8 years ago. A different clip from the one he was talking about poisoning the blood of the country.

That's who I'm talking about...DHS says the border patrol is apprehending people from 150 nations crossing the southern border.

That's how you described the problem @stevil, and I think we both know the answer to my question.

If you're ok with racism and racial discrimination against some people...like white people....then there's no reason to take you or anyone else seriously on this topic.

Do you think racial discrimination is wrong....even including white people?

I don't take cries of racism seriously when it comes from people who support racial discrimination.

Trump has been talking about the opioid. as an epidemic since his first run for office. China sending the poison through Mexican drug cartels. Killing many, many Americans. Now maybe you might not think of Phytanyl problem as an epidemic, but he certainly did. It is so much worse now with people from all over the world pouring through our borders. Someone already spoke about his comments being clearly in that context when he said that. Maybe you don't consider the drugs killing Americans as poisoning. But a person certainly could.
Fentanyl doesn't "poison the blood" of those who OD, much less this country.

It's funny. For a guy who supposedly speaks plainly and just says it like it is, you folks spend a lot time explaining what he really meant. I'm old enough to remember the mental gymnastics over "covfefe" and the explanation that he was sending a coded message in Arabic to his people when in actuality he was falling asleep as he was trying to type "press coverage".

I don't care what you think, it was what he was thinking.

Yes, which is why I started this thread. I was trying to see if there was a way to give D Trump grace and read his comment in a non racist way.
Perhaps my biases against him were making me think the worst.

It is a big problem in a country like USA where you have people of many races and to have a potential leader who hates people with non white skin. Racism seems to be a big problem in your country.

You keep going off topic, keep deflecting, keep doing whatabout isms, but don't really stay on topic. You have offered your suggestion as to why it wasn't racist. But I don't think that holds water. Money and finances aren't considered the blood of the country and a party with many accusations of racism should be trying to avoid adding fuel to the flame. D Trump has been given the opportunity to walk back his comment, but instead he has continued using it.
I wish the nominee would be someone other than Trump but I don’t think he’s a racist. His son in law is Jewish and his daughter has converted. He says stupid things but I think he’s an opportunist, not a racist. Polling shows that some people liked his comment and his other supporters don’t care.
I’m not worried that Donald Trump will be a racist if elected. I’m worried that he will feel he has nothing to lose since he can’t run again and he will try to take revenge on people he feels have wronged him. And I am worried that there will be endless lawsuits and trumped up crimina charges and that’s all he will have time for and I feel like it would be better for the country if one of the other candidates was the nominee. I think they would have a better chance of winning the general election.
Trump had no chance of winning the general election before all these charges were brought against him but now that is changing as these efforts have made him a martyr.
I still don’t think he can win the general election and nominating Trump is a good way to get Joe Biden elected.
Some people seem to be more worried about rhetoric than actual examples of acting on the rhetoric. Can you name some things Trump has done that were racist, or just things he has said?

Ok...is it only a problem if the racism is directed at people who aren't white?

And obviously, any racism is bad...I'm sure you'll agree. The problem here isn't so much the words but rather the possibility they indicate of a racist policy coming from the president's office. Biden's said racist things "If you don't vote for me, you ain't black" and "poor kids are just as bright as white kids" clearly came off as racist to some people...regardless of intent. Most people don't really care.

The problem, without dismissing the problem of saying racist things, is the actual possibility of racism affecting policy or the pursuit of justice, etc...right?
I have had people arguing that the majority of people coming here illegally and seeking asylum are white. They consider Hispanic people white when it suits their narrative and they’re being booked as white when they are arrested

I would have thought it would be enough to just say it's a problem if the president is racist....but for some reason you mentioned "non white skin".

There's plenty of white skinned people crossing the border...and over 150 million of them already here. Seems like racism against them would be a big problem.

Are they part of this problem or not?

The topic of the thread is that the ex president and potential presidential candidate said "they are poisoning the blood of our country" and whether this can be read in a non racist way.

How about I make it easy...

I don't know what you are talking about regarding military.

DEI = Diversity, Equity and Inclusion????
Sounds good to me.
But I understand if some people are upset about racial quotas and affirmative action.
I'm not too fussed on affirmative action myself.

From an idealistic perspective I would like people to get jobs based on merit rather than race.
But from a pragmatic perspective I understand that there are certain hurdles facing certain demographics meaning that they are more often than not, missing out.

That's your most recent position after a few years of "I don't support racial quotas but how else can non whites succeed" sort of talk.
Nice little adhom there. well done. Great way to discuss topics.
My perception is that some of those White Republican supporters are stuck in idealistic views, and struggle with pragmatism and get all defensive and offended and like to consider themselves (white America) to be persecuted. For them the persecution of whites seems to be the single biggest issue facing White America.

And you seem to find being racist towards white people amusing.

Don't put on some show as if I was wrong in my characterization of the political left.

You can't be both for and against racism....and you're clearly for racism and racial discrimination. So what is the problem here? A former president might have said something racist that's different from the racism you approve of?

Why should anyone care?

Can you name some things Trump has done that were racist, or just things he has said?
His Muslim ban,
his characterising Mexicans "“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. […] They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people”
His "$&!thole comment about people from countries with brown people.

"Donald started his career, back in 1973, being sued by the Justice Department for racial discrimination — because he would not rent apartments in one of his developments to African-Americans, and he made sure that the people who worked for him understood that was the policy,"

Trump pushing and supporting the Obama is a Kenyan lie

Trump calling for the execution of the Central park 5 and not admitting he was wrong when they were exonerated by the evidence. "Tell me, what were they doing in the Park, playing checkers?"

Anyway, this thread isn't about all the things Trump has done that are racist.

I don't care what you think
Seeing how often you put words into my mouth that is abundantly clear.
it was what he was thinking
He was thinking brown and black people are "poisoning the blood" of this nation.
And you all ignore anything else he says that disagrees with your spin on it.
Oh? You really think his father was born in Germany, President Obama founded ISIS and covfefe was a secret Arabic code to his ardently faithful believers?

I don't think it pays to read to much into such a statements. It's just the typical fascist tactic of pointing at others and getting your followers to hate "them".
