America is still obsessed with racial segregation

Some argued the same about school segregation.
Um....you may not realize this, but I'm from Boston.

And I grew up here, in the 1970s.

Yeah, it was a problem.

The reason it might look that way is that some folks used to being casually racist in the past are now unable to be so.

From their perspective ‘everything is racist now’ when in fact it’s just them. But because they are unwilling move with the times they get all bent out of shape when told not to do it.

I’m 50 and have to remind myself that what flew in the 70s/80s does not fly in the 20s.
Racists are in every group. I have seen it firsthand with my mom (Japanese) and my wife (Mexican), by all peoples of color but the focus is on Whites, why?

The first problem with the discussion of racism is the modern redefinition ("modern" as in since the 90s) that states racism only exists when there is racial bigotry + social power. Without social power, it's not racism, and further, the only group with social power in the US are white men.

So, by that definition of racism, only white men are racist, and that's the definition that a number of people in this thread (as well as nearly all of academia) are going by.

The second problem with the discussion of racism is that even using that modern definition, the belief is that since the 1960s, white men have not at all become less racist. White millennial men are just as racist in that perspective as WWII generation white men. This is the foundation of CRT: That white people in general and white men in particular can never become non-racist...it's a genetic function.

Yeah, but what is the end game?
There isn't one. Perpetuation is the goal. That's why it's been going on full tilt for decades after it should have subsided.

What is to gained from such perpetuation?

While whites are certainly not alone in racism they are historically the best and most successful at it.
So? Are you white? If so, are you still practicing to be the best and most successful at it?

College professors are gaining tenure.

Those involved in the DEI grift are getting high-paid jobs.

Politicians are getting elected.
But to what purpose. Once all of these nefarious plans are completed what will the situation be?

No one has been able to articulate what all the division and elected politicians and grifts will actually lead to.

I don’t get it. Do you think all whites are are racist?
You made the statement that whites are historically most successful at racism. Do you believe that's still the case?

Their purpose is to get tenure, to get a job, and to get elected.

I'm not a conspiracy theorist.

But what it will lead to is increasing chaos.

You and I came from a day when racism and segregation were real problems. Even so, as a teenager in the 70s, I saw healing begin and I had black friends in my neighborhood. In the Army, our kids played together. I noticed a shift when Obama was elected, a black man at that. When the right didn't agree with his policies they were labeled racist. Interracial marriage is common now. Since then the media started to amplify every time a black man was killed by a white.

Young people who have no life experience buy into "systematic" racism. The media had to use the adjective to keep the drumbeat going. We have laws in place against racism.

In the end, it's to keep us divided so we can't talk about issues with each other because we've been manipulated by the media into tribalism. Seems no common ground anymore.
