They just believed on Him being the Law and they do not need to worry about keeping the Law.
This is deception.
To reject the will of man for the will of God has a direct effect on their being. He is the perfect example of following the Father's will, not His own. People don't worship that, they emulate it as a result of repentance.

Which is what I said
Jesus nor God cannot claim to be the Law because that would mean that all you have to do is abide in His presence and you would never have to obey His will. It would also imply that God does not offer any grace, either. If God is just the Law, where is grace? Is not by God’s grace in how we are first saved? That is why the Bible is more accurate to say that “God is love” instead. Please investigate videos or quotes of the creator of this show. His name is Dallas Jenkins. Please do your homework on his claims out of his own mouth of his defense of Mormons. Once you know he is knee deep in the Mormon fellowshIp and connection, you will see the quote, “I am the Law” from the Book of Mormon as not being a coincidence. No actual Bible verse ever ever alludes to this statement, “I am the Law,” and it would run contrary to other verses or truths in Scripture. Of course, that was the goal of the Mormons all along that own this show and work on it. The Mormons win if they get you to believe the false theology they promote on the show. They tickle your flesh, but they will seek to destroy your soul in the process by getting you to believe false things promoted on the Chosen. Just read and believe the Bible. You don’t need the Chosen to understand God’s Word. You don’t need the Chosen to lead people to Christ. That is what the Bible is for. The Chosen is a false version of Jesus and or portrayal of the Bible.

The show promotes repeatedly no calls to repentance. When two followers of Jesus were involved in drunkenness, they were not told to repent by Jesus. This means that when Jesus says on the show, “I am the Law” it simply means all they have to do is believe on Jesus or abide in His presence and they do not need to change their lifestyle. So they can get drunk, etcetera. That is why this show has poisoned your thinking on Scripture.

You don’t need the Chosen to understand God’s Word.
Of course not. That is not it's purpose. It is to put a face to the life and times of the people involved and take them down from the false pedestal religion has placed them upon, for fear common people would realize they don't need a middleman between themselves and God.

Repentance doesn't mean emulate - repentance means turning away from emulating anything, from following anything other than The Father and Jesus.
It means change from emulating man's will to instead emulating the will of God.

The show promotes repeatedly no calls to repentance.
The entire show is about the change in the people, change being repentance by definition. And of course that change would not be complete until what is called Pentecost. The show is about their struggle with that change in the meantime.

All that said, does some group or teacher claim that anyone should emulate Jesus ?
Are not we to put the will of the Father ahead of our own, just as Jesus did? That was the whole point of the Gospel of the Kingdom.

Entertainment puts on a false face though - it is "actors on this stage of life" , hypocrites, unfaithful representation , untrue representation.
We are all false actors but in this life we work with what we've got to bring awareness of the counter-culture of the Kingdom into this world

Someone can do that all day long without repenting, without being saved, without realizing they are not saved !
You mean like Christianity 1700 years ago that abandoned the will and Kingdom of God to align itself with the enemy, the world of man, but still using God as a figurehead? If they had changed and stuck to the will of God that wouldn't have happened. Thee was no repentance there. They did not as a result teach Jesus' Gospel of the Kingdom to convict themselves but instead taught another.

First, I seen this YouTuber before and I disagree with him another major teaching in the Bible that all believers should know and accept. So this is not shocking that this YouTuber’s spiritual discernment in understanding certain truths in the Bible is extremely lacking. Second, this YouTuber says on Matthew 5:17 as Jesus saying I come to fulfill the Law as a reference to Jesus saying, “I am the Law,“ but this is false. Matthew 5:17 is not saying the same thing as the phrase from the Book of Mormon. No verse in Scripture even alludes to this quote of Jesus saying He is the Law. This YouTuber is biblically illiterate because Matthew 5:17 (and the other verse he mentions) are not saying Jesus is the Law in any way shape or form. No Scripture even alludes to such a thing and it would be a contradiction in Scripture and God’s nature of giving the Israelites the Law that was for them and not for God Himself. Again, you and this person do not know what the Bible says fully on this topic. He is misquoting Scripture, and try to pull a fast one by throwing verses out really fast with the hope you will not check these verses for yourself. The character of Jesus on the Chosen says, “I am the Law of Moses.” And he says this is not the same quote in the Book of Mormon that says, ”I am the Law…”. But if you know your Bible, you would realize that Jesus quoted Old Testament Scripture and used half quotes or not exact quotes from the OT. So the fact that he quotes a part of the Book of Mormon only proves that Dallas Jenkins is being influenced by Mormons. He says they are his brothers and sisters in Christ. The show is owned mostly by Mormons. They filmed in a sacred place by Mormons. So this YouTuber is either ignorant or he is not being entlrely honest.

Once again, it is a drama!!! It is not meant to be taken as 'gospel' so to speak!

Even Dallas the producer said that that 'quote' was not taken from the book of mormon!!!

You need to do some proper research!

In Matthew 5:17, Jesus is saying He comes to fulfill the Law. This means Jesus came to obey His Father in everything He was said to do by Him. But in the Chosen, you got the Jesus character making mistakes in trying to figure out on what to say at the Sermon on the Mount. But the Bible teaches that Jesus said and did everything by the commandment of the Father. So the show violates Scripture. If Jesus was the Law, there would have been no need for Him to obey the Law so as to fulfill it as per Matthew 5:17. So this YouTuber is seriously lacking any kind of understanding when he reads the Bible. He is just throwing out verses that sort of sounds like it and he hopes you will not check the verse for yourself and think about if it makes sense or not. He is just hoping you continue to enjoy the show instead of reading the Bible instead.

It is a show!!! Its only a 'drama'. Its not meant as a perfect life and works portrayal of Jesus.

Read some of the reviews on social media and see what they are saying, maybe someone needs to tell them it is just a show.

That is the same with any drama. Any film any play.

I remember the uproar over a dog food commercial where the dog was in the background innocently licking itself in a favoured spot as dog's do, but many people thought it didn't conform to their idea how a dog should act.

Well..............Jesis IS Lord Over the Law. He's also the Fullfillment and End of the Law. And being that the the Law was articulated by Moses via reference to God, then in some sublime way, God is the Standard by which the Mosaic Law has existed.

So, I think we can let this little bit of hollywood-ized iteration pass. It's not that big of a deal.
You are defending false Mormon theology, which again is a quote from the Book of Mormon - BTW.
The show is primarily owned by Mormons and so its not a coincidence they quote the book of Mormon.
Matthew 5:17 proves that Jesus is not the Law because He came to fulfill it. Meaning, He came to obey everything in the Law as being a man. Also, Jesus was made under the Law (Galatians 4:4). You cannot fulfill the Law by obeying it if you are the Law. You cannot be made under the Law if you are already the Law. So Mormon theology from the Book of Mormon that says, “I am the Law” that is repeated on the Chosen by the character of Jesus is false.

Side Note:

Mormon theology is forbidden to be promoted in this section of the forums even. So if you are standing behind false Mormon Theology, you need to lower the bar and go to the non-Christian section of these forums to do so.
