CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They are still promiscuous regardless of legal monogamy. They do not care about their relationships. I've seen it. Lord, have mercy.

But I have a brother who is active in the lifestyle. I've seen how it destroyed him. Which is why I am vocal against it. IT breaks my heart.

And here I thought the talking point was that this was about making cakes for gay weddings.

I doubt anyone was trying to force the baker to come to the wedding. They just wanted to buy a cake.
And he only had that objection after learning about the orientiation of the customer.

Then gay customers can buy wedding cakes just like straight customers? Because I've seen a lots of discussion about how selling the same cakes to the wrong types of customers is very very damaging to their religious freedom or something.
I'm not sure where this idea is that one must discriminate in every single case for discrimination to occur.
I always thought it was when a business decided which customers to sell to based on the traits of the customer.
I do continue to appreciate the need to try to make this about me. It just shows how weak these far right talking points are that every post is an attempt to distract the thread with fabrications.
I see nothing about not selling cakes to gay customers in there. I mean, sure, if one were motivated one might be able to extract some sort of justification for doing so, even while ignoring a whole bunch of other customers who also sin.
Kinda like how in previous generations, verses were used to justify other preexisting opinions about who businesses didn't want to sell to.
The more things change...

That, plus the conspicuous lack of applying these same standards to customers who aren't gay. Almost as if it's all just rationalizations for the real reason, a reason which is trying to be hidden for some reason. It's really strange that would be necessary, given all the talk about how the businesses supporting discrimination are morally superior and all.

Really? What examples do you have of a baker being asked to participate in a wedding service?
Typically they just bake cakes.

Yeah, but that's a sin a majority of people who agree with me might be involved in. Making a big deal virtue signaling against the bigger sin might lose me too many customers.
