You see, black holes, they gather mass and energy, until it get`s so heavy it collapses under it`s own weight. When it does, the energy, which all mass consists of, get`s so compressed, it get`s new again (since you can`t destroy energy), and forms, a new sun. This is what happened in the start of the universe also, all energy was suddenly there, so it was so heavy, it collapsed, and spread out. This is also how we have mass, because like electrons in orbit around a nucleus, it had different orbits, and when the energy cooled down, it became stiffer, and eventually, mass. That`s why if you don`t feed mass energy all the time from suns, it becomes rock. This is also how we have gravity, it`s the momentum from the collapse. Gravity, couldn`t do anything on it`s own without the collapse, because you can do anything from nothing. And also, the reason why planets, have things orbiting them and not drifting apart, is not because of dark matter or dark energy, which is not proven anyways, it`s because, when the sun burns, it produces old energy. It`s a little like when you use heater at home, when the energy have given off warmth, it becomes old energy; this gives off gravity.

Hope you like what I wrote. This is all from my own thinking, nothing else. Because, I don`t believe in the theory, that everything just ends! Tell me what you think :)

But there is a book you could read that might explain it.

That would be nice... but judging from its proponents I'm not holding my breath, or reading it again for that matter. Been there, done that.

I don't disagree with you about the proponents.
We are quite a troublesome bunch.
So what was the issue with reading the Bible?

All those begats and begots... where was the editor on this one.

All kidding aside the whole thing can be condensed down into one simple maxim... "do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with thy God." Somebody should put that on a t-shirt. As to what the point of the rest of it is... I'm still confused. I can't begin to tell you how many times I've read the NT, and the whole thing seems to boil down to that one simple maxim... which oddly enough, ain't even in the NT.

The idea is there in the NT. So where is the issue?

The passage from Micah is probably on many shirts.

So where is the issue?

The issue is, that the book is nothing but a collection of reversionary history, Middle Eastern mythology, cultural mores, and social/legal regulations... all loosely combined under the heading of a religious text.

It's an interesting study on the evolution of a small tribe of Israelites, and as such not to be disregarded. But to read more into it than that is to not understand the nature of the human animal... what it believes, and why it believes. For that alone it's a fascinating book, and not without its merits. But to think that it's a book about some omniscient, omnipotent God... it's not... it's a book about us.

I've heard the whole Bible can be summed up in 19 one-syllable words:

1 John 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.

Sorry you don't see what I see... but I would hope you look at it from different angles and you might be surprised at what you find.

I find it much more personal than that.
You don't. I don't think I have anything I can say that will change your mind.

It's not that I don't know where you're coming from. I've got a cross hanging around my neck that's been there for 48 years now... it ain't coming off. A good deal of that time was spent ministering to the sick and homeless... close to forty years in fact. I've seen my share of "Born Again" Christian movements... seen people totally beguiled by them. They mean nothing to me. They're just people doing what people do, and it has nothing to do with God.

But you go ahead and believe... I don't have a problem with that. But remember... it's personal. It's not about how vociferous you are, or how fervent you are, or how much scripture you can quote. It's personal... like the love for a wife, or a son. It'll show on the outside... quietly, without a need to brag or boast about how devoted you are... just be still, and do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with the God... all the rest is just for show.
