So you don't deny. Got it.
I have zero interest in holding your hand through a thread, especially given somebody else took the time to do so already. If you choose to turn a blind eye to somebody else’s behavior, that’s 100% a you problem and 0% a me problem.

Excuse me? Are you suggesting that I'm a liar now? This after you just insinuated someone else was a racist?

Do tell, what you think I'm being dishonest about.
You and I and everybody knows you saw that picture and realized that the one that was chosen was one that only showed of poor people of color.

Or are we going to play the “I don’t see color” card to complete the illusion of ignorance?

Wow.

I can't believe what I'm reading is real.

A picture says a thousand words. I didn't see brown people in that picture. I saw some poverty, and I saw struggling facial expressions.

...But if someone sees "brown people" that's on them. And it's *wrong* to insinuate that's what others see.
Whether the post in question was racist or not, I don't know, but it would be great if you and other forum staff would do more to correct inaccuracies, stifle propaganda, and elevate the level of thoughtful discourse here, instead of doing the opposite - propagating errors, pushing propaganda, and playing games with people - all of which are extremely common, and it's often left to the rest of the members to correct these errors.

OP clearly didn't understand the content in the article he posted - his comments about the lawsuit were plainly inaccurate as a quick reading of the article would demonstrate. The picture and its associated comments were, at a minimum, dumb. What does a scientists look like when fleeing their homeland? There were a number of children in that picture - what does a scientist look like as a child? What did Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, look like when his family fled Poland in the 70's? I have friends whose parents (some now very successful engineers and entrepreneurs) fled Vietnam and China in the 60's - what did they look like? OP clearly intended to communicate that people who look like *that* aren't and/or can't grow to be scientists. How ought the rest of us interpret the criteria he's using to determine who "looks like that"? Is it that they're poor? Is it that many of them are women? Is it that they're brown? I don't know, but I'm having a hard time coming up with an answer that makes it not a garbage take. You got any ideas?

To a hammer, everything looks like a nail.

To the woke, everything looks like racism.

I never said it was racism. As pointed out in posts 40 and 48, racist or not, it's indefensible.

I've already asked you to provide a plausible, alternate interpretation of the post in question. Got any ideas?

That assumption smacks of racism. You act like Latin American countries can't have space programs or be interested in rocket science. Both are wrong.
I am not white. And even less a racist, so before you start waving the race card, you should know your audience

I have experienced racism, real every day racism growing up. Funny thing was I never experienced it at the hands of a conservative. Always some white guy who believe he knew better than some poor uneducated brown kid.

Makes wonder how someone can look past the fact the crowd was a majority woman and children all some see is race. Sad, really sad

And if you are wondering, this is me from my passport photo.

What isn't being discussed is why are lots of "brown people", indios, having to cross the border in the first place. The effects of environmental changes and the legacy of colonialism and the exploitation of their land by foreign agribusiness interests never factors in.

During COVID, for instance, there were beef shortages in the US, so alot of these people, who basically don't have any formal titles to their land, were forced off their land by wealthy agribusiness interests, so that Americans could continue to enjoy their beef:

good choices on both accounts.
Why? Why do you want to see and autistic immigrant, who used his disabilities to become a genius want to lose what he has earned, or be imprisoned?

Just because you aren't white doesn't mean you can't perpetuate damaging, racist tropes.

The economic crisis in Venezuela, partly driven by sanctions, isn't helping, either.

So, essentially, you're calling a specific poster a racist, even though he never said or suggested the things you're charging him of.

...You better chiggidy check yourself, before you wreck yourself! Because made-up stories are bad for your health.
Nah, they won't. Anyone who opposes illegal immigration is a racist. You see everyone who comes across the border is a refugee and a legal one. It's all about the fact we hate brown people. I mean if it were white people doing it we'd be all for it right?
