CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

It's belief in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. However a true faith will always have works and repentance. We are not saved BY works and repentance but works and repentance will be evident as a true sign among the elect because it is the Holy Spirit that does these works through us.

My notes on the passage from Acts 16:31 say it well: "No other work was needed. The jailer and his family placed their trust in God, and immediately expressed that faith by being baptized."
There is no "back up plan" or "plan B". Trusting in Christ for my daily life as well as my eternity. Romans 13:14 is a verse that stands out for me personally. Do not keep anything back; "no provision", in case things don't turn out as I have planned. It's The Lord Jesus' plan for my life, and I need to submit to His will, and way.

Genesis 3:21 The LORD God made garments of skin for Adam and his wife and clothed them.
God replaced Adam and Eve’s fig leafs (their works) with His works Gen 3:21.

I know how Adam and Eve were saved by faith in The promised Messiah. I was questioning the posted statement, that it is faith in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ that gives salvation, which Adam and Eve knew nothing about.

It's to believe in God. When we see Jesus we see God. When we believe in, hope in, and love Jesus we believe in, hope in, and love God. That's why Jesus came: to reconcile and unite man with God, as is the right and just order of things, reversing Adam's course of action away from God.
"Through Him you believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and glorified Him, and so your faith and hope are in God." 1 Pet 1:21

Jesus is God's word made flesh, so God's word is His instructions for how to believe in him, or in other words, believing in God's word leads us to also become the embodiment if His word. As children of God, our goal is is accurately represent the nature of who God is through the way that we live, or in other words, the way that we live testifies about what we believe to be true about the nature of who God is. For example, the way to believe that God is good is by doing works that testify about His goodness, which is why our good works give glory to the Father (Matthew 5:13-16). In John 8:39, Jesus said that if they were children of Abraham, then the would be doing the same works as him, so a chip off the old block is someone who has the same nature or character as their father expressed through doing the same works as them. This is the sense that Jesus is the Son of God insofar as the Son is the radiance of God's glory and exact image of His nature (Hebrews 1:3), which he express through setting a sinless example of how to walk in obedience to God's law, and also the sense that we are children of God when we are partaking in and testifying about the divine nature through following his example, so in order to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, we need to understand the nature of who he is and seek by faith to become like him in his image.
