So, you cancel flights because one pilot became disoriented and crashed? That, to me, is a very weak reason for canceling a program... based on one individual's issues..

Was there a reason discovered for this pilot's disorientation? What is special about Antarctica that would cause a disorientation? Are we going to see a flight for other destinations also canceled if a pilot has an issue?
Both pilots and the flight engineer (three men crew on the DC-10, and I can’t recall if there was also a check airman). They deviated from the predefined route to give the passengers a better view and became disoriented due to bad airmanship.

Also I would note that Concorde, which was profitable for Air France and massively profitable for British Airways, was nearly scrapped after Air France ran over a piece of metal from a Contintental DC-10 that had a tire problem on takeoff and crashed and burned, and three years later the program did end anyway due to declining traffic.

One crash can absolutely end a program in aviation if the problems are severe enough.

Heliocentrism is an obvious precursor to evolutionism given evolutionism's need for vast time periods (first posited by Lyell in relation to the (alleged) "evolution" of geological formations, and subsequently adopted by Darwin (via Lyell) in relation to (alleged) biological evolution. Heliocentrism eventually led to Lemaître's Big Bang Theory that further extended those ridiculous time periods. Heliocentrism is all about vast time periods and naturalism, including evolution. I trust that this clarifies the matter.

Bottom line: With today's ETOP ratings, there is no obvious safety or economic reason not to have commercial transcontinental flights over Antarctica — not distance, not terrain, not weather, nothing. The (alleged) and (exclusively southern) transcontinental flights across vast stretches of the Southern Ocean would be much longer. But there is one reason — not obvious to heliocentrists — the adjoining, impenetrable firmament at the Southern Circumference, said firmament being kept under wraps by The Antarctic Treaty.

Au contraire, NASA's record of not really going anywhere is probably the biggest supporter of the stationary, planar earth.

The only flight that would actually cross Antarctica would be the flight proposed by Norwegian Air Argentina to go direct between Buenos Aires and Perth. The route was approved but there was never enough potential traffic to justify the flights. Airlines don't make money if their planes are only half full.

While we are on the subject of flights, please explain why the flight between Sydney and Santiago takes 13h 25m while Sydney to Shanghai takes 10h 20m. Why does Sydney to Los Angeles take 20m longer than the flight to Santiago?

Louis Rudd and Colin O'Brady managed to cover the following distance in under two months while each dragging a 100kg sled with their supplies. All they would need is a couple more people and they should be able to patrol the coastline easily ^_^

I have worked for a satellite related company. My son and a good friends are currently working with satellites. You’re trying to convince me that decades of technological advancement, multi-billion dollar industries, the science of astrodynamics and orbital mechanics are all a lie and that I need to get “educated” about by conspiracy bloggers.

There is no credibility to the flat earth argument.
