That people of many different beliefs look for hidden messages in the bible, devout Jews look for hidden messages and find them saying Jesus is not God, atheists look for messages from aliens and find them.

It is all about how gulliable one is.
The bible deals with a disturbing message, which people try to sideline with other more palitable messages.

There is no such thing as plain reading of the bible because there's spiritual significance to much of it, particularly the parables used by Jesus in the NT.

And by the way, there have been no hidden messages found in the bible, other than that which was found by the researcher, he tried other methods and other alphabets numerical tables and they did not add up to anything significant. if you had watched it all the way through, you would have understood that.

The bible can be read in many ways, at face value, with reference to culture, for spiritual significance, for prophetic meaning etc etc etc.
However one reads it, it always starts with the plane meaning of the words.

As to the hidden messages, I don't ewatch you tube links, I do my own looking around and found sites referring to orthodox jews finding hidden messages, atheist doing the same.

Oh I agree there are No hidden messages in the bible, other than the way of salvation hidden from those who have rejected God.

' the cat sat on the mat' means that a cat was at some point sitting on a mat.
God so loved the world that he sent his only son. means just that.

I tried to watch it. Almost didn't get past the first two commercials. Watched it long enough to see it was a rehash of the "Bible Code." It's worth noting that similar "codes" have been found in Moby Dick. In other words, I don't put much stock in it.

Then why are the parables not "plain" to everyone? Not even the majority of people Jesus was speaking to actually got what he was saying. My point was, there is more to the bible than the surface interpretation.
