Salvation and Baptism of the Holy Spirit

I remember when I first became involved with witnessing and street ministry that we were taught to lead people into the Baptism of the Holy Spirit right after they prayed the prayer of salvation. From tears of repentance to praying in tongues.

It was very effective, but at some point I got away from the practice.

Was anyone else taught the same? If so, did you see similar results?

It was a real season of discipleship and growth in our church.

I only ever witnessed that in the church, personally. Whenever people were being moved and operated within the gifts of the Holy Spirit during a service. I never saw it happen during street witnessing or anything like that.
