He didn't do that though. He was talking about a subset of Republicans, like the ones that violently attacked the capital.

If he was talking about those who "attacked" the capitol, how many people is that? It must have been enough to go on TV a year and a half later to make a speech about them, even though the only thing he did was make himself and his party look bad.

Just weeks after the FBI raided the home of the former president (and probable future presidential candidate opponent to joe biden), the FBI has apparently already started leaking data about what they found--and it has nothing to do with "Nuclear documents". It's supposed information on the French president's love life.

If that's the best thing they've got on Trump after this raid, they've messed up worse than ever this time.
Rolling Stone report: Trump boasted he had intel on Macron’s sex life

The issue has surged back into the spotlight in the wake of the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, during which authorities seized sensitive documents, including one titled “info re: President of France.”
Since they have no real substance the idea is to continue making new charges against Trump. Add the name calling and it goes on year after year. Wouldn't you want to take focus off of the disaster Joe Biden?

I don't think he made himself or his party look bad.
I think it is his obligation to be wary of domestic terrorists. I think it is top of mind for many people that Trump is under criminal investigation, and top of mind for many people regarding some of the activities that some Republicans are doing regarding voter suppression and putting in electors or election officials who deny (without any evidence) the outcomes of the 2020 election. It's a big concern. And I don't know what is happening right now regarding whether the official USA intel organisations are intercepting communications of these groups and whether they are organising themselves for demonstrations or riots or worse if Trump actually gets arrested.

I am certainly interested in what has brought this speech on and what the purpose of the speech was. It does seem out of the ordinary.

I would hardly call it "top of mind" for most people. They have more immediate concerns, none of which biden addressed: Most important problems facing U.S. today—per poll

Even if they did, the damage couldn't be more than a billion dollars worth and 25 people dead, and over 2,000 police officers injured, and countless businesses closed forever due to being looted and burned in the Summer of Love--AKA "Peaceful Protests". So, nothing to worry about.

I am certainly interested in what has brought this speech on and what the purpose of the speech was. It does seem out of the ordinary.

We've already been telling you. Biden needs desperately to get his poll numbers up, and to increase his party's chance of retaining control in Congress in the November election. The only way he can do that is to badmouth Trump and his voters. It's all he's got. He's failing as a president, and the only way to counter that is to talk trash about someone else. It's the classic distraction technique.

Honestly, I'd have more respect for the guy if he would direct his trash talking toward someone like Putin, who has gone to war with a neighboring country and killed many thousands of people, and gotten tens of thousands of his own people killed, and may even cause the largest nuclear disaster in history. But instead, he chooses to attack the former president of the United states. And he calls himself a unifier, which indicates that he's lost all grasp of reality.

Over the last 6 months of Russia's war (and frankly for the month before it started), Biden has spoken harshly of Putin repeatedly, organized international opposition to him, and worked to keep Ukraine armed. It is something that has broad support in Congress and the US population. Not sure how you missed that.

Maybe he was speaking of those Republicans who, on January 6, 2021 were very supportive of those actions, crimes and whatnot, and would’ve liked to have been there “helping”, but “life stuff” and “couldn’t get away” kept them away; and who still think that the Democrats “stole” the election?

I live outside of USA and so I'm not at all interested in Inflation in USA, but what I am interested in is whether USA will continue being a country or will fall apart.
They got perilously close on Jan 6 and as I understand it the threat is ongoing.

I would say that if democracay and elections fall apart in USA then this would be a much much bigger threat than some looting.

I'm not agreeing with you.
I don't know if his speech was a campaign thing or a warning about domestic threats. Not sure.

The speech was a threat to those who oppose him politically, that they are not to be treated as constituents but instead as enemies of the state.

Most Republicans still falsely believe Trump’s stolen election claims. Here are some reasons why. - Poynter

All those people? Or these?

'A Public Religion Research Institute poll published in November found that nearly a third of Republicans agreed with the statement “Because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country.” '

Or these?

'quarter of Republicans were adherents of the internet conspiracy theory QAnon and believe that “there is a storm coming soon that will sweep away the elites in power and restore the rightful leaders” and that “a group of Satan-worshipping paedophiles who run a global child sex-trafficking operation” control America’s government, media and financial system.'

Why is Biden apologising to Republicans?

Luckily we don't have anyone like that on this forum.

How many Islamists participated in 9/11? Enough that 15 years later, Trump attempted to ban every Muslim from entering this country.

He seems to have run out of hatred for Putin already, even as an actual war with him continues. Meanwhile, biden's hateful rhetoric has turned toward his political opponents right here in this country.

You mean those who dared to question whether or not things were done legitimately? How dare they do that! It's not as if political speech is protected!

You should have been more concerned over the violent riots that happened throughout 2020. Far more places were affected, far more people were affected, and the damage was far more widespread. But the events of one day at one building, and that's what the political party in charge right now wants everyone to be focused on. So close to an election where said political party is about to lose, it's not surprising.

Why didn't you post anything about what people such as Bernie Sanders campaign organizers said--that cities would burn if Trump was re-elected?
Just google "Milwaukee will burn sanders doesn't win" to find the articles. Can't post the links here because of the filthy language of the people quoted. These were the ones who originally threatened violence if they didn't get their way during the election.

It is far more than just a one day Jan6th thing. There was a concerted effort to usurp democracy even before Trump lost the election. They had fake electors in place. They had state AGs acting. They had congress members in place to initiate the whole thing. This is far more dangerous than the summer riots, and would have effected 81 million people who were about to be railroaded if Pence would have buckled.

They've done a lovely job of rebuilding Milwaukee after the Great Fire.

And Bernie Sanders followers were threatening to burn cities to the ground if Trump won. Is that would you would have preferred? When 2024 comes around, they may get the chance to carry out that threat--and the narrative will shift once again to calling it "peaceful Americans exercising their first amendment right to protest", just like in 2020.

They didn't get to carry out their threat because they got their biden. At least threatening violence worked this time.
