Oklahoma woman arrested for storming of U.S. Capitol | KFOR.com Oklahoma City

Winegeart was arrested on complaints of entering and remaining in any restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly or disruptive conduct in the Capitol grounds or buildings, act of physical violence in the Capitol grounds or buildings, and destruction of government property.

Officials say two friends of Winegeart separately submitted photos from Jan. 6, 2021, showing Winegeart on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol.

However, it appears some folks are standing by Winegeart.

“She’s a good lady. I don’t know what’s going on there,” one Fairview man told KFOR. ““I wish we could just sweep it under the rug.”

Garrett Ziegler, a Navarro aide and zealous Trump loyalist [who] let Powell, Flynn and Byrne into the White House, allowing them to hold an impromptu meeting with Trump in the Oval Office...

Former Trump White House aide who met with January 6 panel attacks witnesses, lawmakers in profane and sexist rant

In the 27-minute livestream, Ziegler used vulgar and misogynistic language to attack Cassidy Hutchinson and Alyssa Farah Griffin, two women who worked for the Trump White House but have since publicly broken from the former President and cooperated with the January 6 panel.

[As for his opinion about the panel itself] “They’re Bolsheviks,” Ziegler said in the stream, referring to the far-left communists who led the Soviet Union, “so, they probably do hate the American founders and most White people in general. This is a Bolshevistic anti-White campaign. If you can’t see that, your eyes are freaking closed. And so, they see me as a young Christian who they can try to basically scare, right?

Interesting.

Rawstory notes that he invoked the Fifth or privilege 100 times in his talk with the Jan 6 panel.

I'm thinking this is what happens when one restricts oneself to a far-right echo chamber - one might end up thinking that the propaganda in there is accepted as uncritically by the mainstream just as readily as it is by the low information voters that propaganda targets.

One of the new details from the Jan 6 hearing was the somewhat harrowing chatter from Pence's Secret Service detail.

For 13 minutes on Jan. 6, 2021, as smoke clouded the air and Vice President Mike Pence hid from rioters in his office adjacent to the Senate chamber, his Secret Service detail scrambled — in increasingly frantic radio messages — to clear a path for Pence to flee the Capitol.

A White House security official who was monitoring the traffic told the committee that agents were “starting to fear for their own lives.”

“There were calls to say goodbye to family members, so on and so forth,” the security official said in audiotaped testimony. “For whatever the reason was on the ground, the VP detail thought that this was about to get very ugly.”

[Later, as Pence sheltered in a garage...]

Trump was watching television footage of the riot in the West Wing dining room, and was well aware of the mob’s mood and actions, the committee showed.

But in a tweet at 2:24 p.m., the president further attacked his vice president, writing, “Mike Pence didn’t have the courage to do what should have been done.”

In a new interview, Melania Trump says she was unaware of what was happening at the Capitol. She was helping a photography team document the Trump White House. Stephanie Grisham, her former assistant, says that's [baloney].

What a difference it would make if state legislatures could overthrow the will of the people.

At last, Christianity Today has gotten to the root cause of January 6th.

Fantasy Role-Playing Is Hurting America

Senior argues that January 6 is the distillation of this role-playing fantasy: “The angry, howling hordes arrived as real-life avatars, cosplaying the role of rebels in face paint and fur. They stormed the Capitol while an enemy army tried to beat them away.”

Our culture of fantasy role-playing is leading us to some perilous places.

Is it only 60 days because she didn't have a gun with her?

In a court filing, Bancroft's attorney, Carina Laguzzi, argued that her client was not being literal in her threats against Speaker Pelosi.
"Who hasn't told their spouse, 'I am going to kill you if you leave (your) shoes on the carpet again!'" Laguzzi wrote. "And yet these statements are not meant to be taken literally."
Really?

Exclusive-Two former U.S. officials help ethics probe of Trump ally Clark, source says
The office is examining whether Clark violated ethics rules that prohibit lawyers from engaging in "dishonesty, fraud, deceit or misrepresentation" when he urged Rosen and Donoghue to send officials in states pivotal to the 2020 election outcome a letter that contained false statements, the source said.

DC lawyers' disciplinary board says ex-DOJ official Jeffrey Clark lied in his attempts to overturn 2020 election
Former Justice Department official Jeffrey Clark, whom Donald Trump wanted to install as attorney general so he could use the department to help him overturn the 2020 election, violated his professional code of conduct, the disciplinary office governing lawyers in Washington, DC, said.

Clark met with the House select committee investigating the January 6 US Capitol attack in February but pleaded the Fifth Amendment during his deposition.

Are we allowed to make inferences if someone pleads the Fifth?

IANAL, but as I understand it, prosecutors are not allowed to tell the jury that it implies guilt. I don't know if juries are actually instructed to disregard it. And who knows what happens in jurors' heads.

But for those of us in the peanut gallery, we can infer to our hearts' content.
