  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So how is that BLM thing going?

BLM's $6 million mansion a clear violation of IRS law, watchdog charges

NYC Mayor questions BLM over recent gun violence: ‘Where are those who stated Black Lives Matter? The victims were Black’

Patrisse Cullors falsely claims BLM was insolvent before $6M mansion buy

Now...I an not trying to make this into an "I told you so" thread. But I did call it two years ago. I am just curious as to what people think about BLM, especially those who were pro-BLM post George Floyd and how they think about it now in light of all the new revelations.
New revelations???
Racists have been trying to claim Cullors somehow embezelled millions from BLM since she purchaed that 3 bedroom ranch house.
I guess some peopel are so caught up in their prejudices that they think a black woman can only have money if criminal activity is involved. Of course ot do this you have to ignore he fact she is a college professor and a best selling author and that she own a television producton company among other things.

Education for what? More gay sex studies? My point is that funding isn't the problem in our educational system. The problem is the school leadership.

Let's not combine two problems. Funding (number of schools, quality and number of teachers, sizes of classes, materials and equipment etc) is different to any problem you might have with individual cases of leadership. The two aren't associated and you can deal with them separately.

Here's 18 reasons why maybe the system isn't as good as it could be. 18 Reasons the U.S. Education System is Failing - The Edvocate

They all need addressing. And funding will go a long way to doing that.

You mean reduce the number of Orientals in the brainiac departments to try and even the playing field?

I'm not sure exactly sure what that implies. I don't want to jump to conclusions, so maybe you'd like to expand on what 'reduce the number of Orientals' actually means?

It's not a lot of money when you consider our debt

Sorry. I'm missing the point you are making. Are you saying we shouldn't tax the mega rich because the national debt is high? Or are you saying we don't need much to fix education in comparison to the debt? Notwithstanding that no amount has been mentioned so I'm not sure how you can compare an undeclared amount of money to another.

It simply means for at least 50 years they have soaked up education like a sponge, especially in the math and scientific fields.

Talk about being spoonfed by your favorite politician. How many billionaires are there in the United States? And do you really believe the money will be spent on education?

'Reduce the number' has nothing to do with what 'they' do in education. It seems to suggest exactly what it says. Reduce the number. Now why on earth would you want to limit education to a specific group of people you term 'Orientals'. Which is a term I haven't heard used in literally decades.

I think we're done. All I'm getting here is negativity. You haven't offered a single solution for the problems you think need solving and belittle any that are made.

I normally thank posters for their input when closing a discussion. I mean, it's only polite to do so. But as you haven't made any, I'll skip that.

I'm not saying reduce the number of Orientals. I'm saying the Occidentals are feeling left behind. Think of it as the space race and the Occidentals are lagging. Kind of in the ways Caucasians are feeling their numbers dwindling in the countries they formerly built and controlled and want to see their birth rate increase.

Seems you did. Seems to me that you think that if you cut down on the number of people who do well in school then others will somehow automatically do better. Quite a nonsensical idea if you don't mind me saying.

Maybe we should get people to pay for it now. Are you prepared to accept a small tax increase? Probably not. So why not tax those who can most afford it: President’s Budget Rewards Work, Not Wealth with new Billionaire Minimum Income Tax | The White House.

Mmm. Lots of money. How shall we spend it. I know! Education. Your grandchildren will thank you for it.

Baltimore schools are a model of what happens when more and more money is spent on "education". Things often just get worse: As Baltimore school bureaucrats get rich, their students fail.

Define "racists". So far, it sounds like the definition you're using is: A white person who calls out the wrongdoing of a black person.

So you are suggesting that things will get better if we spend less? What an interesting concept. Maybe ask your boss to cut your wage because it will increase your efficiency. See how that works out.

I really didn't think it needed saying that we'd all expect value for money and that any input of funds would be used responsibly and people held to account for educational standards.

Guess I was wrong.

Pardon my French. I meant by increasing the number of non Orientals, balancing the equation. .

Not what I was saying.
