  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

So how is that BLM thing going?

You seem confused by a charity/political movement siphoning off or misappropriating millions of donated money. That’s their bread and butter and most charities are the same, it’s just concealed better, usually in the form of ironically large salaries.

Look at some pastors.

Pouring money into the problem doesn't address the root cause.

Well, you've already admitted that you don't know what the answer is. So I'll go with mine. Better education. And keep an eye on the superintendent so the money ends up where it's needed.

I told you what the answer is. The question is who is going to do it and how do you implement it. That I don't know. A great school will not help a kid who has no support at home and doesn't know how to behave

I told you what the answer is.

No, you told me what the problem was. Or at least told me that the root causes need to be sorted out. But you've no idea what to do.

I'll try education until you come up with something. I don't like the idea of waiting around while you come up with a solution.

Where did you get the statistics on how the poor vote?
Lots of places. It's pretty much a well known fact. Here's a few articles:

Poorer Americans have much lower voting rates in national elections than the nonpoor, a study finds. (Published 2020)

First I wonder how they get these stats. No one ever asked me how much money I make when I vote.
So just deny the truth to suit your "narrative?" If you don't like the information, throw out the source......classic.

The source was a couple of liberal rags I just wonder how they get their information. A poll? Could be there are so many poor people they are still a strong voting bloc even if all of them don't participate. I don't blindly accept everything I read from the left or the right .And poor people does not equate to black voters. How many times have we been reminded there are more white people on welfare than black

They mention the black thing because Republicans don't gerrymander white neighborhoods. I know it's easier to believe what you are spoonfed by your favorite politicians but it's okay to accept facts as they are, not painted by your personal feelings or your favorite politician's feelings.

I can't think of any politicians I like. I tolerate some don't particularly like them

I get that someone might gang with others in order to survive. But you do not have to destroy yourself and other people with drugs in order for you to survive.

And if you buy drugs, you could be helping to fund terrorist groups which are destroying families in other countries.

So, if he was helping to kill and destroy other people, by supporting the fentanyl and other trade . . . if you labor in the kingdom of evil, this can help you to connect with other evil people and what they can do to you. And sin is not fair.

And racist police likewise can destroy people's lives, including by abuse in their own families.

Certain Russians can destroy another country because they think they are smart to do that.

Perhaps, ones of all cultures can have people who think they are being smart to hurt other people so they can have what they want. It is not limited to one race or profession or country.

Pour money into education.
Education for what? More gay sex studies? My point is that funding isn't the problem in our educational system. The problem is the school leadership.

True but the old saying about leading horses to water but you can't make them drink still applies. It used to be difficult to get some kids to get into education of any kind at all. It is even harder now when they think they can get all they need to know from a smart phone, which oddly even poor kids have. Thankfully there are plenty of pictures for those who cannot read.

Regardless of how big the world's population gets, there is only room for so many at the top. Education was once their private domain. After WWII it became convenience to educate kids as they could be taught to believe what was taught them (conformity and allegiance) and the concept of free thinking was subdued. Now we have reached a stage where education is no longer useful with growing populations as it opens too many doors, even for the sheep who seek higher positions on the ladder. Hence the dumb down era and the thinning of the would be elites.

Maybe we should get people to pay for it now. Are you prepared to accept a small tax increase? Probably not. So why not tax those who can most afford it: President’s Budget Rewards Work, Not Wealth with new Billionaire Minimum Income Tax | The White House.

Mmm. Lots of money. How shall we spend it. I know! Education. Your grandchildren will thank you for it.
