CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Regardless of whether the earth is flat or spherical, ... the closer to the ground one's line-of-sight begins, ... the easier it is to obscure that line of sight with obstructions ...

no at 30 miles high you should only be able to see about 513 miles.

It is impossible to make a flat map of the earth that is proportionately scaled. It cannot be done. That’s why the flat earth map doesn’t work because the southern portions of the globe or the outer edges of the flat earth map are extremely disproportionate. For example the southern tip of South America and the southern tip of Africa are about 6-8 times farther apart than they should be. They should be around 4500 miles apart but it ends up being over 27,000 miles apart on the flat earth map. It absolutely cannot be done it’s impossible.

That is why when doing photos over a lake for either proving or disproving curvature of water, it is absolutely necessary the water be absolutely calm, no wave ( or a very minimum) motion.

Why do you believe that? We have airplanes that can fly over 7,000 miles so why do you believe that we can’t reach 250 miles high?

It depends on when.
On the one hand, those locked in the myopic world seeing in only 3 dimensions will inevitably give a temporal and, therefore, a wrong answer. Tralfamadorians, on the other hand, know the earth is not, is dust, is flat, is spherical and back to flat, dust and then is not again and again.

That’s not what’s stated in the scriptures and the planes we have now fly way higher than the Tower of Babel. We also have buildings that would dwarf the Tower of Babel.

Building a tower to the heavens.
Sounds pretty high.
Nobody knows how high planes really fly.
And if a plane flies level at a set altitude, that proves a flat earth. If a plane flew level over a so called globe earth, the plane would continue to climb as the ball gets farther away.
