• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I'm thinking about going back to bible college. I made the wrong decision to leave after my dad passed. I keep thinking I'm too old to start all over again, so maybe a certificate program or something.

You should definitely go if that’s where God is leading ya. I’m going back to the one I graduated from to get a bachelors.

I'll say a prayer before I go to bed tonight. That's a major undertaking if you decide to do this again. I'll also pray that you have closure if it's not the Lord's leading to go back.

You're nowhere near too old. Especially in the current day and age where people from all stages of life are seeking more education. Plus, there's lots of online degree programs nowadays.

It's interesting that you say the not so nice guys wear fedoras, I never made that connection before.

I'm just going by what they say on the Internet about the nice guys stereotype (the ones who claim they are nice guys in order to score women, I mean, and then prove that they are anything but when rejected). They are often associated with tipping a fedora. :p

Oh joy. Vision Center Manager conference call with the Market Director early tomorrow morning, he wants me to read the company directive to the group.

1. I HATE reading out loud.

2. I'm off today, so I can't login and print the company directive.
2.A that means if I wanna do the call from home tomorrow, I have to go into work today to print the directives, otherwise I have to go to work early before open tomorrow, but I'm the Closer, so I'd be looking at a 13 Hour day......

that why they pay me the big bucks.... and by 'big bucks", I mean almost the same as my apprentice associates, and less than my licensed associates :sweatsmile::sweatsmile:
Oh that sounds pesky and like a lot of extra work!

On my mind: Making sure I can run soon again. View attachment 311590

I don't think it is ever too late to start over again!!! Especially if you don't have anything holding you back!

OMM: I kind of want to do something for Valentines day like how I used to in my early childhood. I remember we used to cut out hearts and write sweet notes for family. I think I used to have a lot of fond memories from that time in my life. I may need to look up Pinterest ideas or something. I say who needs romance on Valentine's day when you can just appreciate everyone who you already love and cherish in your life! ^_^

A positive sentiment that I think would be beneficial for those who are perpetually single like the majority of us to hear. :)

This past year I have been working very hard to change how I see things, and hoping to continue to do more so this year. ^_^ Sometimes it is easy to slip into different patterns and more negative feelings, which I have often been guilty of. One thing I'm really thankful for is having the ability to take responsibility for myself and my perspectives in life. :)

Valentines is a double-edged sword for me. It's my parents wedding anniversary, and our tradition is to set the house up like a restaurant. I run the kitchen, and my nephews are my wait staff.

It gives me something to distract me, which is nice. But at the same time, it's also a lot of work, its tedious, and it takes hours to prep, and hours to cleanup after. And it's stressful, what if one of my siblings decides to be an idiot, and ruin the day for them. Which, does happen sometimes, unfortunately. :ahah::doh1:

Hopefully this year will be different with them not ruining something! :)

Trying to talk to someone who is just as stubborn as you can get really annoying sometimes, lol.
^_^ You must be talking about me! I can be very stubborn at times too! haha

That sounds like a really big hassle! ^_^ It is so very nice and sweet of you to do it for them though! Aww, doing so much for others and taking up so much responsibility for others is always messy... don't forget your health is important too!!!

Thanks. It's been our tradition since I was little, and now we're keeping it going with the next generation.
My health? What's that? :p

I'm the most stubborn out of all of you and I'm not changing my mind :p
What is this, a competition? Because if it was, you'd lose. :smarty:
