No it does not and that was my point. It doesn't matter, jail or prison. These thing still happen to people there. Because they are a mess. It shouldn't happen no matter what. Lots of people get assaulted in jail. Putting the spotlight on a transgender lessens the impact that it happens to a lot of people for lots of reasons. All of them inexcusable.
and if it jail staff broke their own rules and placed a Korean women in a cell with three men apparently for their own amusement and then watched the assault take place and refused her medical treatment there would be a spotlight on that incident too

The "traditional" transsexual has been a person who believes that gender is real...they're just physically the wrong one. They commit to changing and stick to the change. The idea that gender is merely a social construct is a gender-fluid thing, and within the "trans" umbrella, there is a growing disconnect between "gender fluids" and traditional transsexuals. As one traditional transsexual said, "Gender is real. If all I had to do to feel right was to change my clothes, I wouldn't have had all this surgery done."

I get the idea that sex and gender aren't the same thing. One is a biological fact...one is a socially constructed idea of what it's like being a woman....or man...based on multiple changing factors over time and circumstances and culture, etc.

What I don't understand is the idea that these things aren't related. I can imagine what its like being 7ft tall. I can understand how that changes a lot of interactions with people.

The idea of being 7ft tall though is directly related to the biological reality of being 7ft tall.

Without that...the idea of being 7ft tall can mean anything.

You need a link. The odds are that you did not understand the information given.
Odds are good that I do. Please remember that Gender dysphoria is not trangenderisim, rather it is a disorder that transgender individuals may experience. Specifically, a transgender individual can be diagnosed with gender dysphoria only if there is "clinically important distress, or affects the individual significantly socially, at work, and in other import areas of life." DSM 5 American Psychiatric Publishing, 2013 The DSM 5 further indicates that the prevalence of gender dysphoria is 0.005-0.014% for adult born as males, whereas it is 0.002-0.003% for adult born as females. Which is about 14% of the transexual population

What I would call "mental androgyny" is a medically established thing, a factor of in utero hormonal activity. A person can actually physically display as one sex and have the mental outlook of the other sex. This is something that can be detected and determined medically. Of course, the incidence is very, very small, less than a percent of children born.

I would disagree that gender is purely a social construct. If that were so, there would not be so much commonality over history and across cultures. For sure, certain surface-level artifacts of gender are cultural, such as covering breasts or leaving the bare, wearing trousers or skirts, freedom of social activities, and such. But there are some deep gender commonalities through history and across culture that are rooted in physical and hormonal human realities.

No, it's no more worse than someone being beaten for his race.
exactly - if the person is being sexually assaulted just because of their race. It's motive that makes first degree murder more "special" than negligent homicide. If that motive is exclusive to the fact that the victim is member of a minority then it does have more meaning.

I don't know where SilverBear got these statistics, but I'd imagine that it's the 86% and not the 14% who are causing all of the trouble and creating all of the conflicts between women and trans people.
No it seems that those causing trouble are those who view this particular minority with disdain.

And the reason why a *portion* of that particular minority (though it is clear from your statistics that most aren't even trans to begin with) are so strongly opposed is because they willfully trample all over the rights of other minorities, appropriate the culture of other minorities and claim it and redefine it for themselves (equivalent to "blackface" per Dave Chapelle), and in many cases pose a very clear threat to the dignity and safety of those other minorities.

If they don't want the "disdain", then they need to stop doing it, but if and until they do, they are going to be met with opposition every step of the way because they have basically declared war on at least half of the human population with their antics.

"They should have reflected on the fact that I’ve now received so many death threats I could paper the house with them, and I haven’t stopped speaking out. Perhaps — and I’m just throwing this out there — the best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women, is to stop stalking, harassing and threatening us." - J.K. Rowling

Dat who down? What child, what indecent exposure? Did I miss something?

Men don’t have a good track record when it comes to protecting women. Especially 30 years ago when victims of rape and domestic violence were not taken seriously by law enforcement and even male family members.

. Who is this person "walking around with an erect penis"?!

At the spa. I thought everyone had heard about that incident-sorry.
So a man claiming to be trans went into the female section at this spa and exposed himself to numerous woman and one or more children.
Originally, directly after she complained to the spa and it blew up, people were siding with the pervert and vilifying her for complaining.
Here is one article, there are many articles around. This one is more towards the end of the whole thing, once it came to light that this person had a record.
Wi Spa suspect still at large, with history of indecent exposure
It's been quite a drawn out event.

The point of talking about it though is to highlight the fact that women's and children's rights were seen as secondary to trans rights. Highlighted by the fact that people instinctively sided with this person who exposed themselves believing them rather than the victims, the women and children. As if they hadn't had enough trauma, then when she complains she isn't believed? She is the oppressor? Any society who does not place children's rights at the top closely followed by the elderly, disabled and women is sliding fast into depravity.

if it is the only reason it does.

Your response really reminded me of how certain LGBT supporters reacted when they found out Michael Myers an unstoppable killer murders a gay couple. The only thing they cared about is the sexuality of the victims even in the land of make believe. They could care less if other heterosexual couples got brutally murdered. It's normal and accepted behavior for a villain. However the villain must adhere to woke thinking and not do harm to minorities. This is not equality this is privilege. Something I don't support.

It is an unwritten rule in any horror movie. Don't kill the dog! If you want people to like the villain, don't kill the dog.

It is instinctual for us to care more about dogs & cats because these animals behave with the maturity of a 3-5 year old child. And we are hardwired to protect children. Well at least the vast majority of people are hardwired to protect children.

Racists will say the same thing, that any discrimination or prejudice they experience is their own fault, if they would just ask like good (insert N word here) and accept their rightful place as subservient to Whites things would be so much better for them

And the rest of these so-called transsexuals are all just on a lark, as RDKirk asked above?

your disdain and hatred is shining through nicely.

Women are used to receiving such labels whenever we stand up for ourselves against those who would oppress, rape, and murder us, so what else is new.

Racists will say the same thing, that any discrimination or prejudice they experience is their own fault, if they would just ask like good (insert N word here) and accept their rightful place as subservient to Whites things would be so much better for them

Well that's very interesting because that is exactly what the trans-radicals are attempting to do to women, a.k.a. if women would only accept their rightful place as subservient to the men who would be women, things would be so much better for them and we wouldn't have to keep stalking, harassing, and threatening them.
