It is a very bad idea to force a child to stay with an adult who may be a parent or may just be using the child as a ticket to get into this nation. About 16% of the ones tested showed there was no family relationship but that does not mean they are evil child smugglers. What about a woman bringing her children and a step child or two to the border?
There would not be a family relationship there, but that woman is the mother to those stepchildren. And what smuggler would agree to a voluntary DNA test? The Biden administration stopped doing it in March of this year (or April). I have no doubt though, that they are checking DNA with a better test before turning reconnecting children to their parents after a few years apart.

But all this represents a deflection from the topic that the separated parents and children will be financially compensated for the pain inflicted on them by the US border agents. The younger children were getting use to another woman being their mother, and then suddenly they are with people who speak Spanish and is the mother they have forgotten.

People bringing their children to the US and entering at the border are not bringing them to a cartel controlled area. The US border patrol is not the cartel.
The US border agents are not raping the women or sexually abusing the children.
The money that the government is talking about is for actions INSIDE the US, and actions taken by US citizens and employees.

It was the Trump administration that took little children from their parents and caused a great deal of harm. It is their actions that are the problem and is tied to why the money is offered,

As to the immigrants themselves, many are escaping from gangs - and many are coming because there has been a drought in Central America and there is little food. What there is has gone up in price and the farmers are broke. Joe's policies have resulted in over 125,000 unaccompanied children processed at the border--that's a record. 125,000 children separated from parents, left to cartels, because of Joe's policies. Do you think they did DNA tests and properly tracked down relatives for that last group of Haitians under the bridge who disappeared in one night? It's harder to maintain secrecy in today's world, they banned access by child welfare workers and the media to the cages for kids but the cages could be seen from a distance. When Haitians were massed under that bridge they banned drones for "national security" but their reason was just too ridiculous so the drones took photos. They moved out the illegals, banning access to the move and would not say where they were going. When people noticed illegals on planes they next made the flights private, refusing to reveal destinations. But in New York the private flights in the middle of the night were spotted. The Biden administration conceals what they can, but with today's communications I am sure it is exasperating.
