By what amounts are they refusing? Compared to how many are taking the vaccine? I mean, your whole OP is pretty pointless as it stands without any information whatsoever.
Over 500 employees have been fired at United for refusing, but these statistics cannot "prove" anything. They merely point towards something being significant, and the reason is this--many employees no doubt agreed to the jab rather than lose their jobs. That doesn't tell us anything about what they'd do if this threat were not hanging over their heads.

It's not uneducated people not willing to vaccinate.

Why are highly educated, very well paid professionals refusing?

Thoughts?
In many of these cases, they are protesting the mandate, not necessarily the vaccine itself.
I'm not against the vaccine, but I would protest the mandate if it came to my workplace.

Yes, "agreement" is deceptive when one's livelihood is at stake.

If so, what of the "not very clever" people who are being heralded as the responsible ones who are "in the know" and so agreed to get vaccinated?

The vaccine was not made available to me when I contracted Covid. I oppose it for myself now due to increased risk of adverse reaction. I know many people in the healthcare profession, they are all vaxxed. Maybe I'm lucky but none of them are tyrannical cranks, salivating at the chance to punish and condemn the unvaxxed.

To a lesser degree, it may also owe to the President of the United State being the leading advocate for universal immunization and he's well-known to have been wrong about everything else he's promised and predicted.
He's out of office now ...

If there has been a formal statement, did they offer a rationale??
Getting to know the real person making a decision . . . this can make you able to know the real reason the person made the decision :)

If more people go one way, than another way . . . this could mean only that more people are right, or that more people are stupid, or more people are informed, or more are not. Numbers don't tell, then, I would say.

There was that time when scientists denied there was such a thing as a platypus, I am told. Then they even saw a platypus specimen, right in front of them, but still they persisted by saying it was made of parts of different animals all sown together. But, once they dissected the specimen, they had no way around it.

The majority, in that case, was educated and in the scientific community.

And humans are now still human. It appears to me, how every one of us has some sort of ability to fool our own selves and not even know it. And I myself can welcome excuses to praise myself for being right and looking down on someone else < this can effect how well I evaluate. And to me it seems that ones taking different positions in a fight or argument can all be wrong; could this be because the fighting and biting ones are so busy with knowing about good and evil, so they can all be fooling themselves away from where their attention really belongs??

"Cleverness", or the lack thereof, ... has little tp nothing to do with a sense of personal and social responsibility, or the lack thereof ...

The dissenters can't ALL be wrong, Pescador. That doesn't ring true.

What only some of them are wrong? What does that even mean?

What about the assenters? That can't ALL be wrong, can they?

And yet, there really is a truth of the matter. Either vaccines are safe and effective or they aren't.

Thoughts?

Well the Covid vaccine is not a traditional FDA approved and tested vaccine that is the big objection I know of from a minister who is also a male nurse. The notion that there could be some kind genetic problem or other kind of unforeseen problem like cancer years or decades later from taking this brand new vaccine is the issue, because that sort of problem has happened with a few earlier vaccines.

  1. Your post is correct about rationalizing, generally.
  2. I probably agree with the OP about current USA covid vaccines.
  3. By not offering an article that led him to conclude that "more pilots are rejecting said vaccine," his assertion (NPI) will not fly. (Edit: the links in post #35 are helpful to that end.)

But all those people who got vaccinated were deceived, obviously.

I never said that or implied it. So far, no one I know has suffered an adverse event. Hopefully there are no long term consequences, either.

Would you give one example, please? Thanks.

It’s a simple and self explanatory statement. I don’t have to argue all sides in one post.

My thought is why are you asking us instead of them? Wouldn't they have that information and be willing to share it?
