  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

They have a choice. If the unvacinated choose to be a greater risk to society, there will be consequences. It is their choice though. No one is forcing a needle into their arm.
The vaccine is not experimental.
For generations, we have complied with vaccine mandates for multiple diseases.
What has changed now?
The only people they are a so-called risk to are others who choose to not be vaccinated. But regardless, it’s not the government’s job to be everyone’s nanny.

It's not an experimental drug, it's an approved vaccine with at least 17 years of development and testing.
Then the two- and five-year data should be easily available.

True -- but it is the government's job to provide for the common defense (which includes defending people from their neighbors if need be) and to promote the general welfare (which includes precautions against plague).

Then they should mandate church attendance at Reformed Baptist churches. That would promote the general welfare.

1. The First Amendment explicitly prohibits such a mandate, and
2. I'm not seeing the connection... ;)

And still in the experimental stages. If it's not, then show us where the FDA approved version is available for people to get it.

Or are unable to be vaccinated.
Or have a breakthrough infection.
Or if the non vaccinated result in a mutation that the vaccine is not working against.
Or if they have a compromised immune system.
Or if the UN-vaccinated fill up the ICUs and take up an inordinate amount of resources so people can't be seen for other issues.

But you know, other then that.

I figured if we are just making stuff up that the founders never intended, I’d go for broke.

So everyone should be forced to get vaccinated to protect a very small minority?

The founders' intentions are not the law of the land -- the Constitution is.

If the founders intended something to be written into the Constitution, they would've written it in.

But it has to be understood by what they meant, not changing their intentions to what you want it to be.

Telling people that if they don’t take an experimental drug, they will be fired. Or take a 5k pay cut.
It is not experimental. mRNA has been researched for decades and pfizer has full FDA approval. This is the most researched and analyzed vaccine in history. We have more data on it than any previously. No vaccine has developed statistically significant long term side effects beyond 6 weeks of widespread testing or use, let alone over 9 months of over 2 billion doses.

Advocating letting people die is unethical even if it is because they refused the vaccine because of bad evidence or thinking. Are you advocating no medical treatment for the unvaccinated?
I'm not saying they should not be legally allowed to get medical treatment in a hospital, I'm saying they have a problem with people like me giving them grief for not getting vaccinated, then do their medical treatment at home; that way their decisions only hurt themselves not everybody else.

Everyone would be taught truth, rather than government indoctrination. That would be beneficial for the entire country. It used to be that way in America's early days. The bible was read and taught in school. Kids didn't shoot up schools back then. Now they're being indoctrinated with racist superiority/inferiority and being taught that they're not actually boys or girls. No wonder kids are so confused--and they'll be the ones running the country in 20 years.
