Nobody is stopping you from wearing a mask. I hear they recommend wearing more than 1 to decrease your chances of getting COVID-19.

You could also wear a face shield.

There’s even a vaccine! Your body, your choice. Do what’s best for you!
You realize vaccines don't destroy the virus, right? Vaccination does not eliminate the risk of a virus spreading because that's in their nature to spread. Someone being vaccinated merely means the virus is ineffective against their immune system (barring variants that may bypass it, which is why we get an influenza inoculation and such annually, that's evolution)

Doing what's best for you is not mutually exclusive to doing what is best for others, humans don't exist in a vacuum as individuals, we necessarily interact with others in one form or another

Yup, another Christian, another "it's all about me".

When it comes to what we inject into our own body, would you like for someone to make your decision about that for you?

What is wrong with a little tuskegee experimentation every once and awhile?

All those who get it because they want to should be enough for the herd immunity to be in effect. If those people are still fearful of everyone else, they can stay home because they're scared of that 5% chance of getting a virus that has a 1.14% chance of killing them.

Did you get the COVID-19 vaccine?

Again, this is not the point and it beggars credulity that you do not know this!

What I (and a number of atheists, I might add) are saying is this: you have a moral obligation to act in the interests of others and get vaccinated. Nobody should force you, but that doesn't mean you do not have such an obligation.

And your evidence is.....what?

Are you going to cite that respected journal "The New England Journal of Crackpot Websites with Links to Holocaust Denial Sites"?

Man, it is exhausting keeping up with the untruths.

On other hand, it must be tiring for you guys too. I imagine it is no small feat finding sources to defend your position that include:

- a doctor who participated in the storming of the Capitol on Jan 6
- a doctor who claims we are experimenting with alien DNA
- this latest cutie - a study on masks from a site that has connections to Nazi propaganda.

I don't know how you guys pull this off - I certainly couldn't.

No to your claims: As you surely know, citing the 1% death rates is misleading since while it sounds like a small number, it translates into about 1.5 million Americans dead if 50% of your population gets sick. Not to mention the crushing load on the healthcare system. And whither do you get the figure of 5%?

It's starting to look a little like that, isn't it?

Theres a little systematic targeting of races in the medical research community, if I were black I would run after what these people are guilty of. Now I had read something to the effect that black Americans were receiving the Covid vaccine at much lower rate than white American, valid distrust could be the issue maybe? I don't know, because now we should be assured that they have turned a new leaf while getting rid of any pesky liability and have become the saviors of this overpopulated world.

Who is associated with Nazi propaganda again?
I am so confident in the high caliber of Occam's Barber's posts that I am taking his claim, reproduced below, at face value:

Occam's Barber said:
You might want to reconsider this link.

After a wander through the site I've found articles which are blatantly anti-semitic and openly pro Nazi. There's also a load of white supremacist garbage.

By linking to this site you are effectively condoning the content.
I am so confident that he is correct that I promise to withdraw from all current Covid threads if this association he mentions is not accurate.

Deaths and injuries from vaccinations sound small too until you consider that they are only short-term numbers. But that's always dismissed.
As for the 5% figure, it's what I get when I take a 95% effectiveness rate for the "vaccines" and that leaves 5% remaining that aren't effective, leaving the guinea pigs that took their government-mandated, uh, I mean suggested shots a 5% chance of getting the flu from those unclean people who made their own decisions.

Yeah, because the link was posted for the video itself, that person Kristen Meghan has no association with the website, her voice was being muted at various platforms and they just happen to have a link to the video on that site, there is no such association between them.

I wonder what Jesus would say to those who refuse to take easy, almost zero-risk health measures (vaccine) that will benefit others. As someone has pointed out, it is a painful embarrassment that the overall picture we see in these threads is one where it is the Christians who are making the vaccine decision all about their own personal interests and it is the atheists / humanists who are arguing for social responsibility. There are exceptions on both sides, but this is the general pattern.

And I also wonder what He would say about all the mangling of truth.

Sorry, I stand by Occam on this one - he (I assume he is a he) has, in my opinion, an impeccable record. I would be shocked if his characterization were not fair.

But if he is wrong, I will honour my promise to withdraw.
