Asking God's Forgiveness Out of Fear But Do Not Feel Sorrowful

I have asked God's forgiveness for all of my sins, but I do not feel sorry for them. I want to obey God, and I meant it when I asked him to help me to obey his laws. But I have done this due to fear. With all the people dying and Covid-19, and my lack of health, I am now pursuing God. I have even surrender to Jesus's Lordship. But I don't feel saved and I don't feel sorry. This is scary and I feel like my conscience have been severed due to constantly sinning against God. I love sinful pleasures. But what scares me is the consequences of sinful pleasures.

I will keep seeking and surrendering to Jesus until he is really Lord and King in my life. But my fear is that it is too late.

1. If you keep returning to Him, that sense of fear (of Hell) will eventually be replaced with trust (for His wisdom & direction). Reading His Word & going to church both help with that, too.
2. As long as you feel the need to repent, He hasn't left you.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. I got saved only out of fear. If we will study God's word and pray, he will reveal Himself to us. It's good when knowing God's love rids us of fear. I reckon it was 10 years or more before I was fear free.

God loves you my friend. However many times we sin and repent, God is always there with open arms.

He can see our 'trying'. Our fight against sin. Our fight against the devil. Our sorrow at our pathetic weaknesses.

Be strong. Keep returning to God no matter what. Lay all of your sins etc at His feet. Be determined to keep fighting the fleshly battles that try and takes us away from our Lord and God.

It's not too late. Turning to Jesus Christ is what He spoke of when He Himself said that He is "the way the truth and the life". We live in that. To have given your trust to Him is to give it to God ( Father Son Holy Spirit), then you live in it. It's not about a feeling but an action which you seem to have taken. Your being ( spirit) literally goes from darkness to light in the eyes of God. You were bought for the price of the Sons blood at the cross, sins forgiven and eternal destination changed legally in heaven. This is not experiential truth ( it's not about feeling it) but a promise from God. If you need the scriptures supporting this I'd be glad to supply them but it would be a good study for you to do a search on eternal security, also assurance of salvation and see the scriptures associated with those terms. Meanwhile read in the book of John the whole 3rd chapter. Also Romans the 8th chapter. And Ephesians 2:8-9. In time you will believe it and you still may not feel worthy of having received this truth. Why ? Because non of us are worthy but it happens because He loves us that much, regardless of what we think of ourselves.

Believe me, after 42 years of walking in the Lord I still don't know what He ever saw in me to die on a cross for me but He did. Don't let the enemy beat you up but rather just believe Jesus is your savior. He died on the cross for who so ever would come to Him would gain eternal life ( spiritual life). Bible doctrine 101 truth. The principle of the gospel is simple: you know you are a sinner, you know and believe that Jesus is the provision, that He came to earth, suffered, died was buried and rose again on the third day. You come to Him with your sins asking forgiveness and knowing you need Him and ask that forgiveness. He will send in the Holy Spirit as your helper to turn from those sins. You find the desire for then overall to fall away one at a time, even though we may struggle with some. He will not leave us or forsake till the day of redemption. As I said we walk in this, are willing participants.

There must be a change of heart. A desire to turn away from the things of this world that you love, which includes the sins you don't feel sorry for.

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.​

The reason you don't feel sorry for them is because you're keeping one foot in the world and one foot in Christianity; straddling the fence, as it were.

I know this, because I've been there myself. A sincerity is required when asking for forgiveness. You can't be sincere if you aren't remorseful for what you've done.

Repentance: the action of repenting; sincere regret or remorse.​

You can't serve two masters. You will love one and hate the other. You will love sin more than God and you will falter. It can be difficult to let go of the things of this world that we love, but we must.

Matthew 6:24 No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon [wealth regarded as an evil influence or false object of worship and devotion; for instance].

Christianity isn't about fear, it's about love. Love God and love others. If we love God, we abhor the things that keep us in sin and turn away from them. In doing God's will and not our own, we have hope, not fear.

The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD are true; they are righteous altogether. - Psa 19:9​

Not sinning because of fear of consequences is a good thing. It's much better than sinning and incurring consequences. A healthy fear is like when you get too close to the edge of a precipice. It's natural and good. This is the part that needs to be worked on:

That's a morbid fear that eats at your soul, not a healthy fear that protects it.

"If you remain in My Word, you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free" (Jn 8.31-32). Keep growing in Christ, and His perfect love will cast out the morbid fear (1jn 4.18). It's a process and it takes time, but:

[For I am] confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. - Phl 1:6​

I believe you do feel sorry about them and I think that's how God looks upon you but let's just assume you don't. Why wouldn't you? You say because you love the pleasures of sin? So on that basis that's possibly true let's deal with it. If you knew what sin REALLY is and how God thinks about it perhaps you'd choose not to love it. Sin deceives people. If a person thinks they're better off with sin wouldn't you say they're deceived? Their spirit man....the real them on the inside is wanting to break out of the cage their deception regardless of what their natural mind thinks. Scripture says trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. That means if God says you're happier without sin then believe it.

If you have to say you're going to take that by FAITH then why not do it. Begin to say I HATE SIN and maybe stop giving power to it with your words. Begin to say and ONLY say I love righteousness and the power that comes to one by walking in the light as he's in the light. Of course don't be thinking you'll receive an absolute transformation in one day. To become saved takes place in an instant....to be sanctified or having every aspect of your life transformed in the way you think takes time...it's a process.

Rome wasn't built in a day. Even God took 6-7 days in creation to bring it about.....one step...then the next step....and then the next. Not that God couldn't have done it in one minute but he wanted us to learn about process. So the real question is.....will you take the first step....Day 1 you might say and start saying, declaring, and decreeing YOU HATE SIN whether you even feel like you do or not?
