Have you ever looked for an item and fell down a rabbit hole which resulted in related ideas you hadn’t considered until then? I know the feeling!

This is the story of a canopy bed that morphed into DIY projects and the budding desire for a workshop. :D

Most clothing isn’t produced in the US. Especially fast fashion. They earn heaps by doing it overseas where wage laws don’t exist and sell it here for a profit.
Right, that's where conditions are worst & child labor. What is fast fashion?

Most Amish stories have moral undertones. Faith and family are central themes. Romantic love is plentiful. Beth Wiseman, Beverly Lewis, Amy Clipston, Vannetta Chapman, Ruth Reid, and Wanda Brunstetter are worth checking out.
I am reading up on them. Sounds like they're more teasing, less physical & more psychological, more pure romance, child-like almost. W/ a religion theme. That's what I like :)

Most couples don’t want or can’t afford to live on one income and many women enjoy their careers.
That is very true

That’s nice. My mother did the same. We lived in the same neighborhood for years.
Family is big for me & my family. That's why moving to the South, for example, could be challenging for me. I meet lots of people who don't have that desire, they want to go around seeing the world, living in lots of different places. I want a girl who has that same emphasis on family. I'm old-fashioned.

I’ve seen the challenges of juggling entrepreneurship and a family. You’re pulled in different directions. It can be frustrating and tiring. I want my daughter to have the help she needs. If it increases their quality of life that’s a plus.

I don’t want her stuck in the house, worn down, or neglecting herself. She needs time with her spouse, children, friends, and alone. The balance improves your mindset and disposition. You have less stress and upset.

I understand that may not be the goal for some. :)
Is your daughter okay w/ all these decisions? I assume she is. It sounds like you & her have a great bond & you communicate to her clearly to help teach her what's good & what's not. That's good of her. Many children aren't willing to do that.....& many parents aren't either.

Definitely entrepreneurship & family would be challenging!

I like the bookcases & bed, but the wood vegetable cabinet seems "hard", unless it's for outdoors.

That’s the ideal setup for storage. It allows airflow and hastens spoilage. You’d find them in a root cellar. The upright version saves space and the alternative is smaller. I like the door.

Cheap clothes. The term reflects the production and turnover practice. They bring new items in the store every month which isn’t the norm. Fashion has a season. Unfortunately, the quality suffers and the items have limited wear and usually end up in landfills.

I am reading up on them. Sounds like they're more teasing, less physical & more psychological, more pure romance, child-like almost. W/ a religion theme. That's what I like :)

Yes, they’re wholesome old fashioned romances.

Family is big for me & my family. That's why moving to the South, for example, could be challenging for me. I meet lots of people who don't have that desire, they want to go around seeing the world, living in lots of different places. I want a girl who has that same emphasis on family. I'm old-fashioned.

We’re a close knit family. When the Lord called me to fashion they supported me from the start. Once I learned He was sending me overseas they were onboard. They’ll visit often and watch the house when I study abroad.

Is your daughter okay w/ all these decisions? I assume she is. It sounds like you & her have a great bond & you communicate to her clearly to help teach her what's good & what's not. That's good of her. Many children aren't willing to do that.....& many parents aren't either.

Of course. They’re based on her desires and dreams. When we knew her purpose I asked her to share what she wanted. Her ideal with no concern for cost, time, location, etc. I crafted a plan based on her input.

Many couldn’t do the same because they’re impatient or anxious to settle down. Delayed gratification is our strength. Meeting a suitor with a profitable business and the means to live comfortably with a family is more appealing than someone who wants the same. It demonstrates forethought and prudence.

Definitely entrepreneurship & family would be challenging!

I know many career changers and learned a lot from their experiences.

Moving from traditional employment to entrepreneurship is much harder when you have others depending on you for their livelihood or significant debts like a mortgage.

The majority juggle the job and side hustle until they make enough to do it full-time. She saw the same and determined this was the best time to make the shift. The risks were smaller and she didn’t have the overhead.

She’s using her singleness to put things in place so she won’t have the demands or pressures when she marries. The business will be profitable and she’ll have a team to lighten her workload.

When you’re single you can invest more time on personal pursuits. Like school, travel, etc. You aren’t divided or required to give your attention to others. I believe in using seasons wisely to set yourself up for the next.

I do the same. I’m putting things in place to benefit her children and those who follow. I prefer suitors for myself (and her) with a similar mindset.

Do you know the reason, or is it just something that happened without a real reason? Depression does tend to do that...

I think I know the reason. Some of the more superficial bad things phased away this last week.. and left my mind to be reminded against of the more in depth bad things in my life.

Oh. That's happened to me before as well. Sometimes the superficial things are a nice distraction, even if they are still bad.

*sigh* Lonely, I am so lonely... etc etc

I should probably call my mom or something. Living alone with the way the world is right now is the worst.
I don’t live alone, but yeah, I miss seeing my friends. I mean...it’s not that I don’t see them, but things keep popping up and I have to quarantine.

The missing desk is still in the wild. The second order didn’t come. They used the same carrier but the purchase was refunded and they won’t be making deliveries any further. Meanwhile the company must pay to recover two items they didn’t bring to the customer.

I found a nice alternative on Wayfair. It’s adjustable, foldable, and on wheels. I can slide it in a closet easily.

And I just got a notification my book is available from the library. I’ve been waiting for weeks! I’m off to read. :happyblush:
