Yeah, but I wouldn't expect them all to fall into one binary or the other either.
I dont disagree with that opinion because it draws undue attention to gender but because it has a bizzareness of mixing two categories together.

I do not know enough about biological diversity to answer that. Even within humans, some races are more and less sexual dysmorphic than other races.
So we agree that animals dont really have a concept of being male or female to the degree only humans do.
asians arent really less sexually dimorphic i never looked at an asian person and thought is that a man or a woman.
I know dogs are neotenous compared to wild wolves, extremely so with some breeds. A large reason we find them so cute and endearing. They're a great substitute if someone doesn't want or cannot have children. As far as female dogs and male dogs being neotenos and non-neotenous in relation to each other compared ot humans I do not know. I'm more apt to agree with you there, yet I do not see why this matters?
Depends what you mean by this. Our intelligence allows us to drip and chew up concepts until they become hazy and vague. Gender is still a real thing, but that doesn't mean our culture can't confuse men and women.
Where I live, a lot of people use the word "chick" in a non-offensive way, usually to people they know well, as a term of endearment. They say "alright chick?" which is the same as saying "alright love?". Women use the word more than men, and it's usually directed towards people of both genders.Sorry, I wrote this in another section, but I don't think that section is very active. So, I am going to repost it here.
Do you find it disrespectful when young men or any man refer to women as chicks? I don't understand why they do this. There is this chick outside and she was like this or that, is what I hear a lot. My brothers refer to women this way.
Why can't they just say there is this lady outside?
Female cats tend to fight amongst each other more than male cats do with each other.
You can surely see how an average Asian man and women look more alike than say an average European man and woman?

Like I said before, men being more concerned with physical appearance than the other way around is unique to animals. It has consequences to our concept of gender. Just because an animal's concept is different than ours doesn't mean it isn't any more real for them.
What do you mean by that?
I don't know!Do you think that has to do with estrogen?
this reminds me of the microevolution and macrevolution discussions. Small changes not total differences or blurring the lines.
I don't know!
But the word "chick" is one of many terms of endearment that I've heard, especially in my local area. Others I've heard are "bab" and "doll".
Not sure where the road block comes from. Things will continue to change. They don't just stop arbitrarily in response to other people's sensitivities, lol.
The concept of male and female can be different for different species. Doesn't matter if a female cat fights more than a male cat. I already brought up female hyenas being more aggressive with men than the other way around. Doesn't mean gender isn't still a thing for them, it's just different compared to us.
I get called them all the time! In shops, on the street, everyone uses them and no-one really thinks about their literal meanings. It's just people trying to be friendly and using a word that is more affectionate and less formal.Estrogen and appearence is why those terms dont apply to men.
