Its not that Dr.MCarthur isn't a Christian or a competent theologian its that he isn't doing the right thing right now and he's making Calvinists look like nutjobs.

It's one thing to encourage that the church stay open. Its another thing to completely abandon World Government protocol and hold church services without a mask, practice distancing, or use really ANY preventative measures in your church. And then start to act like that quack President Trump by saying the whole thing is a conspiracy. Doesnt the Bible say not to put God to the test? (It does) youd think Dr.Mcarthur would know that... Also tell this to the almost one million people across the globe who have lost their lives how much of a conspiracy this is.

"Smoking (tobacco) causes 500,000 deaths in the U.S. every year. However, you won't find cigarettes on anyone's autopsy report. You will however find the smoking related illnesses that smoking causes; heart disease, cancer, COPD, etc etc.

It doesn't make those deaths any less attributable to smoking however. .

The problem with the coronavirus, is pretty much everyone who dies with complications caused by it, also has other comorbidities...

Couple that with the fact that politicians and their operatives can't let a good crisis go to waste, and your never really sure how bad it is, until it's over.

We do have a pandemic - the coronavirus is real, and real people are in fact dying from it.

We won't know the scope or the impact of it - in truth - until we can compare the spike in this year's death toll against previous years.

I don't believe it is as bad, or will be shown to be as bad as some would have you think, but it's not nothing either. It's an illness... thankfully not many have died by any count, and we are soon to have a vaccine on the market... but I don't think we are being 100% played either.

There are politicians willing to use this to their advantage, and we should guard against that. But we cant pretend it's not real... theres a middle ground here that's right.

I think he's misread/misunderstood the CDC report myself...

We’re submissive to the government as basically ordained by God. So that was an easy call for us.

What would have made a difference would have been if this was persecution of the church, if all of a sudden the government decided to shut down churches as an act of persecution against churches we would defy that because now you’re into Acts 5 where Peter actually says, “Do we obey God or men?” You say we don’t meet, God says we must meet. You say don’t preach the gospel, we say we must preach the gospel. So when the government gets to the point where it basically persecutes the church, the church has to take that persecution and still do what God has commanded the church to do."

These platforms are acting like totalitarian regimes... and I think that is the future.

Have an "unacceptable" political point of view or religion? No business loan, no credit card, job etc.

No free speech on any social media platform unless it either makes your side look evil or happily follows the party line..

The government doesn't need to be involved, businesses like Facebook, Google, YouTube, PayPal, Patreon and more are doing it themselves..

Talk about homosexuality being a sin on Facebook? Fired.. that's now a "controversial political opinion.." not religion...

It's only going to get more intense the more these businesses get away with it... we will someday have a semblance of freedom that doesn't exist at all under its surface... and they are starting to hit people where it hurts the most - economically.
