And I'm sure it's in an appropriate context.
Sometimes I watch films from the 1930s and 40s. Seemed back then older men liked to call women "kid" as a way to flirt.
I wasnt flirting I was just talking about a person at church.

Women are called girls more than men are called boys.
Yeah but what makes someone unmanly? Being weak and submissive, and less able to live out one's expectations to protect women? Something by the way that doesn't just make you unpopular with men but often women too.
I'm not sure that's true at all.
Women call men boys, men call each other boys. Men call women girls, women call each other girls.

Is that related to their role as birth giver and nurser?
No.
As far as androgynous behavior and even homophobic behavior I think a lot of that anger has roots in men perceiving other men as failing to live up to their social roles. Mainly to protect women and children. Far from it being internalized misogyny, it's more akin to internalized misandry. Although I don't know if men refer to such men as children in that sense. Feminists like to use the term "manbaby" or "manchild" with no real female equivalent, which probably has similar psychological origins as homophobia. They are fine with men having a limp wrist as long as he is still stoic enough to care about women's issues more than men's and always puts her problems above.
Theres no need for gay men to be a breadwinner for women.
The fact that women are the ones who get pregnant is probably a large reason they are more neotenous than men. Biologically speaking this make them immensely more valuable than men. While one man can impregnant countless women, women can only give birth every 6 months. So it makes sense that we evolved a psychology where if a man dies and gets hurt it does not have quite the same emotional impact than if it was a woman. Evolution is a series of modifications, the easiest way was women piggybacking the look of a child.
Why were they considered weak and submissive?
Do you think all the gender differences (how mind works, voice, appearence, hormones), is related to reproduction.
Appearence and voice is related to estrogen and nurturing.I wouldn't say all, but reproduction is a very important marker.

In reality I'm not so sure. There does seem to be a semi-large subsection of gay men who act effeminate. Most homophobia harkens to such stereotypes.

I know lol. Seems like an outdated use of the term. For the most part.
I mean men and women still like to tease each other in a similar vein. I have seen plenty of very short women light up when they talk about taller men treating them like children. These women get a kick out of that.
I'm not sure what you mean by nurturing. That probably has it's benefits too. A woman's voice is often more calming than a man's, lol.
Not having enough guts to be weak and submissive in the right and at the right time, for the right purpose. Being too scared to be a servant leader. Needing to show off what little strength, power, or masculinity he has, instead of exhibiting power under control at all times. To truly protect and provide, he has to stand in the gap and lay down his life, not wave his fist around and shout orders. The world is upside down, my friend. Don't take your cues from it.Yeah but what makes someone unmanly? Being weak and submissive, and less able to live out one's expectations to protect women? Why do you think women arent homophobic as much?
