Here is what I get from this thread - Who cares. People on both sides believe countless lies. I am out of this thread. I am going to go run into a burning fire because hey they all lie and fire doesn't hurt anyone and we have countless fires all the time

Yet there's no peer reviewed studies (that thing called real science) saying they do anything to help prevent the spread of the virus!
If I was a left winger I'd feel the need to wear a mask and say look how great I am too... there's got to be some huge guilt complex in voting democrat these days.
It's great to know that somebody on your side finally believes in science.

Even in the bath?
Always - see post#8. I tend not to have hot baths since it's a well known fact that they dissolve the essential vitamins and minerals out of your body.

Cleaning my teeth 'en masque' has proven to be interesting but I think I've finally developed a successful technique without turning the whole thing into papier mache. :)

I dont wear a mask going to grocery stores.

Reason?
1, the death rate is less then 1%
2, my freedom is more important then the risk.
3, if others are afraid of the virus, THEY can wear a mask and stay away from me and if there REAL afraid, they can homeshop. Why should i be the one to have to home shop because there afraid of me not wearing a mask? And if there wearing a mask, then they should feel secure enough behind it without demanding i wear one too. I should not have to sacrifice my freedom to cater to there fears. Aspeasally fears that are irrational at that.

I pray it does not come to this, but many people must be directly touched by this debilitating, and lethal disease.

Many of those people who swore this was a hoax, not serious, and/or not worth any effort on their part put out messages stating they changed their minds after they or a loved one contracted this disease.

Sadly, at the rate the US is going, pretty much everyone will have been touched somehow by this by the time this is over. Maybe then people will begin to take this seriously.

This helps explain how it is different with all the Covid measures. Still, I can't relate to people who obey laws all their lives and then take on the mentality (and cling to it) that if they don't like laws they should break them. There is an underlying mindset that is being fed by indoctriation of rebellion. The Word of God says that rebellion is the sin of witchcraft so I'm surprised at how many professing Christians can go along with that mindset.

I Samuel 15
23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
Do you feel the same way about the race riots?

I thought the protests started because Donald tweeted about liberating states, followed closely by people with ties to his administration astro-turfing for the same. Or maybe I have the timeline backwards, but those happened fairly close together, and fairly close to the sudden magical appearance of "bottom up" groups with nearly identical wording for their messages.
The groups were organizing on Facebook before he tweeted that stuff. He either saw or was informed that there was a fire starting, and he chose to fan the flame. I know because I was invited (though I didn't take the invitation).

Sure. But I remember what it was like before some of these rules were passed, when the death rate was much higher. I think that's an improvement. You don't. Or maybe you do -- you haven't offered any kind of explanation for what safety regulations are acceptable and what aren't. All I've learned that a piece of cloth on your face is a really big curtailment of your liberty. Are you able to state a reason that this regulation is so much worse than all of the others you accept?

Ok, your the random pick at the moment to get a reply. I have a little bit of time. After this I gotta go to bed.

SOME of the other regulations I accept, not ALL the other regulations.

But yes, why i reject the mask regulation is because its first of all an order and not a law.

second, even if it wer a law it wouldnt matter because its not based on solid proof. Such as the death count isn't totally proven and is even an admitted assumption by the CDC.

Thirdly, the masks working have mixed evidence to them.

Fourthly like I already mentioned everyone should have there own choice. If you dont fear the virus, you take the risk and hold no one liable. If you fear the virus then you take the precautions and resume no risk.

In that vein, I note that you didn't answer my question: do you go around naked in the summer because freedom is more important than imposed modesty? Do you approve of others going naked?

Me going around naked is irrelevant because if it wer not against the law I would STILL wear clothes.

Do I think others should wear clothes to? Yes. But should it be the law? Perhaps so in order to prevent a spike in rape. But mayby not, mayby everyone should have there own choice. Resume risk or wear clothes out of fear. I would bet MOST would wear clothes even if it wasn't the law.

Let me clarify when I say resume risk there. They risk a higher chance of rape. But since rape is an intended crime, the rapist shoulf still be punished.

A asymptomatic Carrier of a virus is not an intended murderer.

This is the main area of contention that people have in your country.

In order to combat a pandemic people need to work together, they need a common strategy to reduce the virus within society and get it down to manageable levels.

People can't achieve this individually in an every man for himself fashion.
This is one of those situations where a coordinated effort is required.

If you have large numbers of people ignoring the disease then they keep it alive and thriving within society and this impacts everyone.

It's not about personal fear and being a personal decision, its about getting together as a group, as a team and combating this immediate threat. But when you have large numbers not conforming to this then that ruins the efforts by the others, it perpetuates the disease, making the pandemic last longer, and it spreads it, killing thousands upon thousands of people and ultimately impacting the economic recovery as well.

Anyway, I can see why USA is having such a hard time getting on top of this.

If people cannot achieve it individually, then your saying that those that fear the virus, the masks, gloves, goggles, social distancing and staying home DOES NOT WORK.

What a grand admission.

Plus, dont forget the rest. Cdc admits the death count has assumptions.

You hot to keep in mind how a country loses freedom, its done ALWAYS in the name of PROTECTING YOU in some way, shape or form.

I take this just as serious as the flu or cancer or any other sickness. Meaning, I do not advocate taking anyone's freedom of choice away due to it.

People die of heart disease, diabetes and obesity, should we ban sodas and chocolate cake because of it? See my point?

Even if my wife cought this and died or myself, as destrout as I would be, I STILL would not advocate taking away others freedom.

That is the true selfishness is robbing freedom and giving the next generation a authoritarian existence.

Cancer and heart disease kills more people than accidental shootings each year. Meaning, I do not advocate taking anyone's freedom of choice away due to it.

Should we ban randomly shooting in crowds because of it? See my point?

Even if my wife were shot by a random person this and died or myself, as "destrout" as I would be, I STILL would not advocate taking away others freedom to randomly shoot at things in crowded public places.

That is the true selfishness is robbing freedom and giving the next generation a authoritarian existence.

Because thats not what happens, your really that dense arn't you, places like texas nearly got overwhelmed, and all those people whining about their freedoms like children still went to the hospital and took up resources. This is a pandemic killing over 1k people a day 5 + days a week, what makes you think we should do anything but consider people that don't wear masks as selfish dregs of humanity.

First those numbers are assumed.

Second, even if accurate, still the cdc says the death % is at 0.5%

Third, yes, IF you FEEL sick, stay home, recover. Outside of that, no one should be doing anything, accept those who are scared to death. This is how we live in a free world. Freedom is more important then 100% safety. The selfishness is comming from those that demand we cater to there fears.

The right has lost all right to claim to be pro life, it's just pro fetus and once born you could care less if they all die.

Nope, one is INTENTIONAL and the other is NOT.

You cannot live in a bubble. You cannot live in a world with no risks or enjoyment. If you do, then you live in a authoritarian world. Its selfish to give the next generation that plate of dog doo doo.

In my country we don't fear our govt. We all gladly buckled down, social distanced, did our bit to save people in our community.
Now we have no community spread, and everything is opened back up, no restrictions at all, except for overseas travel.

Because this is a contagious disease and no one is an island. Every single person is capable of carrying this disease and spread it to others. Your plan has people not taking any precautions and spreading it to other people.

Yea, my plan is if your afraid of the virus or ANY VIRUS then you take the precautions. We who don't fear it. We hold no one else liable. And any person who does push freedom, gets sick and still holds others liable, SHAME ON THEM.

You don’t get freedoms without responsibilities and right now your responsibility is to wear a mask, socially distance, wash your hands, and stay home if possible.

Nope, I'm not responsible for other people's health, THEY ARE. They are responsible for the next generations preservation of freedom.

There have been times where the government asked us to forgo our freedoms for the good of the country. We made people leave their lives to fight wars for this country. Rationed gas, meat, rubber etc. so our military could obtain those supplies easier. Lincoln suspended the writ of habeus corpus in Maryland so Washington DC didn’t get surrounded by Confederate territory.

I agree one of governments sole roles is to fight for our freedom. Its role is not to fight to take it away.

Now the government is asking for you to do extremely simple things compared to those times. It is your responsibility to do it.

Its not governments role to force health on people. Its there role to preserve there freedom. Everyone can make there own choice.

So you know that EVERYONE in your country GLADLY complied and even ALL complied? You really KNOW that?

What? You think someone has the right to "randomly shoot at things in crowded public places"?
